Picked it up a couple of weeks ago but lost my camera, so haven't been able to take any pics myself! Will definitely get some at the weekend though, honest! Anyway... This car started going to the garage where Spacekadett works for servicing and MOTs about four years ago. The lad who owned it had had a Nova which someone kindly wrote off for him, so his Aunt GAVE him the Sierra instead! He wasn't over the moon but obviously couldn't sell it, being a "present" from a relative... Spacekadett told him he wanted first refusal when time to sell came, and a few weeks ago the owner turned up down the garage saying he was thinking of selling. Luckily bro bought a V6 Mondeo earlier in the year and has a workshop full of Kadett, 100E and Mini Cooper, so he hadn't got room for this one. By pure coincidence I'd parked next to the 3-door at a client's place a few months ago and left a "Do you wanna sell your car" note on it. I was always going to get it! Bro gave the owner my number and he rang a few days later, wanting £700 for it. Waaaaay out of my price range. I told him my budget - which was still waaaaaay more than I could actually afford - but he decided he'd sell for what I offered. In fact I borrowed most of the money from mine and Mrs JS's joint account. I also took out an extra £10 and bought Mrs JS a big bunch of flowers... ;D It's not perfect, needing two or three dents taken out and the front panel re-painting. And as for mk1 Sierras and their cracked dashboards... This has by far the worst I've seen! I know I'll never find a better one - 3-door Cosworth owners pay OBSCENE amounts for 'em - so the hunt's on for a grey 1987-89 top half. But the rear arches - spot on! One has a bubble of spidered paint, about half the size of a 5p coin. Mileage is only 64k although it has a "total loss" lubrication system thanks to knackered valve stem seals. Don't know whether I'll need to whip the head off to do that.. It also needs an oil change and a good clean, plus a lot of Waxoyling. I don't think I'll use it through winter since I've got one Sierra on the road which is pre-rusted - no point having two rusty ones! Jury's out on modifications ATM. I'll probably change the rims anyway, and I've fitted a silver early '80s Pioneer head unit with matching two channel amp. Trouble is it's so nice and original! Plus I've got half-way with the '88 Sapphire, and next year I may well use that one as a base to re-shell my "daily driver" Ghia. And I'm now skint anyway.... Thanks as always to Spacekadett, and to Slater to taking the pics! Look forward to daylight shots in a few days.

Hey, i've got a GREAT idea - why not make it into a 'Cossie rep'? I think you'd be quite literally blazin' a whole new trail with that one.
NOT!
Car is fantastic.

It looks gorgeous as it is and the fact that it hasn't been butchered to look like a Cossie makes it pretty rare I should think. A drop in height and some decent rims might not go amiss but generally, I'd leave it.

Cool Sierra First thing I'd do is slaaaaaam it down onto the floor and find some wide steelies with low profile rubber.

I'm going to take an educated guess that he was intending to get "racing" seat covers. He went and withdrew £20 out of the post office, then popped over to the far end of Motorworld to pick up the seat covers he had promised himself. However he got distracted by other things instead, bought them, fitted them in the car park and headed back to withdraw another £20. This process repeated itself a few times, and by the time he'd shelled out £60 he didn't have any money left in his life savings to buy a packet of square sausage for his dinner so he cut his losses by selling it on.

Yes, Its time for wheel trims to get a comeback, be the first! That's my plan! ;D Thanks for all the comments guys, I managed to take a few pics in daylight yesterday so I'll upload 'em this evening. Trouble is it's turned into my daily driver ATM.... After spending £170 to get the Sapphire through it's MoT, the ****er won't start and keeps killing the (year old, very expensive) battery for no apparent reason. Remids me why I love Pintos....
