Today has been a good day for the celeste, it now has a new twin carb engine and some fetching celica wing mirrors courtesy of Stuyizz Cheers chief It's been a bad day for my van however, the 400 mile trip now has it struggling to go in gear Hopefully tomorrow should see the front struts finished, and the weekend should see them refitted

Glad I could help and I hope it all fits in o.k, keep the pics coming as it gets sloted in. My other half was shocked when I told her about your car hiding shenanagans, I'd be skinned alive if I got caught with a fleet as large as yours ;D

front struts we machined an 86mm slice out of them as that was the length the shortest dampers Ed had were, before rewelding them and then welding on the coilover kits plenty of lowering scape there then I want that done to my struts!

It's down need to decamber the rear leaves to drop the rear a bit more, and wind the coilovers on the front up a bit, but it's looking better Without any weight on it!! Before: After: On the ground

tasty ;D is this pic without the engine? It's still got the block in it, head is off though. Now its back on its wheels I can get it craned out to see what I need to do clutch wise, before bolting in the sapporo gsr motor My new wheels for it should arrive tomorrow or tuesday too, so once ive got them resprayed and the 185 60's fitted I can get them bolted on and see what needs to be where suspension height wise I rckon another inch or so down at the back (its down 2" at the mo) and another inch or so higher at the front (its currently nearer 4" down!!)

That's looking good! I agree with you that it needs the back down a bit more. That much rake doesn't seem to suit it somehow???

Nice work. Yet another car for 'most anticipated 2007'
First time I've notice those louvred windows in the rear quarters. Superb.
You've obviously got some work on with the Celeste, but what's happening with the 929 Coupe?

It does look daft with the rake its got, it will have a bit, but nowhere near how much it has at the mo! The 929 is in the parts gathering stage, it needs a huge amount of work, the entire floor replacing for starters! and i'm still trying to find some rear arches for it. The celeste is going to give me a ride for next year while i get the 929 done

That's mint!
So are they standard shocks with the rod shortened and the coil kits welded to the shocker casing?
What spring rate did you use?

That's mint! So are they standard shocks with the rod shortened and the coil kits welded to the shocker casing? What spring rate did you use? The are standard wet leg struts, with the dampers removed, 3 1/4" removed from the strut, to accommodate the 3 1/4" shorter damper inserts, then welded back together and the coilover kit welded over the leg. Springs are 9" 225lbs, though could probably do with being a bit longer.. Mike

cool motor matey i love these things i used to see one of them at my local tesco on a regular basis- think it was a 1600 ST in a silver / rust / primer colour, cool as hell- think it was nearly as low as yours cos the suspension was fubarred ;D kept meaning to wait and have a chat with the owner but when i finally saw him, he was an old coffin dodger bless him cant wait to see this on the road, lovely rare beastie
