I am savage that someone else has got one of these fancy chopping your rear arches out and posting them over? ;D Don't suppose you know of any places in france that might have parts do you? you can rest assured mine will never look as nice as yours!! and it'll probably end up costing 5 times as much too!! Mine's gathering dust nicely in the lovely dry barn. I am completely clueless for bits, the few mechanical bits I needed for it I got from the Rotechniks place who deal in NSU Ro80's and RX7's, they seem to be quite knowledgeable about shonky old Mazdas. Also there is a 'friendly' Mazda dealer somewhere that offers a helpful service and small discount to mazda Rotary Club forum folk, unfortunately i've lost their name and number! Helpful eh? I bet that lad off here with the yellow 323 would know who it is. Do you have a spare interior light and/or boot lock??

Mr_B, I don't have a spare interior light, i do have an RX4 roof console to go in it though, so if that covers the hole where the 929 one is then you can have mine. No spare locks at the mo either, i need one for mine, but I'm now going to just blank over the hole and make it internal release, so if i can do that and the lock mechanism isnt needed you can have that too. I'll keep my ear to the ground for the other bits though as i have to go back to get a few more bits for mine that i forgot last time!

A question - is it unique in the UK? The registration suggests it's 1977/8.

A question - is it unique in the UK? The registration suggests it's 1977/8. It's a '75, was imported in 77 though. It isn't unique in the UK, i know for definite there is 1 other 929, as i have its engine and box for my pickup! It's way off being on the road however. There are a few RX4's too, 4 or so if i remember correctly

fantastic save fella - I drooled over an RX4 en route to school regularly. It was left to disintegrate many years ago....... bringing this baby back to life is worth the amount of work you've got in front of you. Can't wait to see this hit the tarmac.

Great work! Your pic's seem to show there's rot just about everywhere...... Not being negative, but I'm not convinced by bright red, might look a bit too 'modern'? I remember one years ago in a lovely beigey metallic, and there's a dark metallic blue they often seem to have been. Metallic would really highlight and accentuate the crazy lines, though I accept it will take more prep to get looking 100%. Good idea on the running gear swap to get 114.3 PCD. Damn shame the 929 estate sat in a yard near me got weighed in last year

price is free postage will be a lot i'd think? pm me your address and i'll look into it Mr_B, it needs to be the series 1 gen 3 rx7, as the gen 1 and 2 are still 110pcd, all the suspension bits and bobs attatch to the steering arms fine though, you just need adjustable top mounts to sort the camber. I'm not sure what it does height ise, but as i'm coilovering it i didnt care.... ;D You can get poly bushes for the 7 aswell

Another question if I may, guru. Which country did this car originally come from? (don't say Japan!) I'm meaning, where was it originally registered?

I don't think i'm at guru status just yet!! ;D I don't know for definite where it came from originally as all it says on the reg. doc is first used overseas.. Being rhd though i'd take a guess at Japan, can't see it having come over from Australia... Mike
