Hi, Yep thats right I now have 2!! Just recently picked up number 2 which is a silver 1979 ti, which I'll be restoring. My black 1983 ti, I have done the following to so far; Koni Yellow (adj) front shocks Avo (adj) rear shocks Autodelta UK springs (very STIFF) Polyutherane bushes all round OMP strut brace Tarox 40 groove front discs Tarox fast road pads (front) 7x15 Azevs 195/45 Bridgestones Supersprint back box Removed centre silencer 3 point harnesses Sparco steering wheel Momo gearknob I've just taken out the 1.5 8v lump and will be dropping in a 1.7 16v lump from a 33, which I'll be making run on Yamaha R1 carbs. After the engine's all sorted, then just have to fit the Recaro's, roll cage and a general tidy up, well and a respray. See pics: And here's some pics of the 79ti I picked up a few weeks ago: I'll pretty much restore to this silver one back to original and only make a few 'nice' mods. Cheers, Jaty.

Sweet! Love the black one....and the silver one too I've got a silver 1983 ti, the picture of it is on here somewhere. I might make a quick note of your mods and copy them (I have no shame, or originality) Great cars mate.

Cheers guys.
Yep love my black one (ohh err missus), the silver one will be sweet to when I finish with it, already have a picture of the finished article in my head!!
Chunkyster, yeah no probs copying my mods, the more cool alfasuds out there, the better (although they're all cool!!). Any Q's let me know. I warn you though the suspension on the black one is ROCK HARD! If I drove over a coin, I could tell you if it was heads or tails!!!!
Cheers, Jaty.

lol thanks mate. I'll keep you in mind then when I need any advice. As for driving over coins that would really help me out as I'm skint The silver one is quite rare now, Please let me see the pictures when your done. I can never decide which rear lights I prefer so I'll have to get an early one too eventually.

No probs dude.
Yep the series ones and twos are getting pretty rare and sought after. This one has a full length webasto roof too, is very retro!! Funny story behind it is that when I rang the owner about it, turned out he used to know my dad as my dad used to maintain the very car for him!! (my dad used to be an alfa technician back in the day).
I will indeed keep you updated, I'll post any progress pics on this thread. Although probably won't really do that much to it yet until I finish the black one. Got some rust to sort out first, so far haven't seen anything too major (2 of the jacking points collapsed the other day!)
Jaty.

Lovin't it as always.... good to see people are out there who won't let the Suds die. The S2 Ti you've recently acquired is sooooo cool! Can't wait to see her restored! That OMP strut brace that's on your black one.... I am SUPER DUPER keen to get hold of one, are they readily available in the UK? I would happily pay to have one sent over if someone would be kind enough to help me out. I passed one up over here when I was short of cash you see Never seen one since, and it would help greatly with the chassis flex they suffer around the strut tower area. Check out my one, the link to it is in my sig below! Thanks!

Plans for the 79 sud are to keep it pretty stock, although I think I'm gonna remove all the bodykit from it, have it painted a nice silver. Will obviously lower it a bit and fit a nice set of alloys probably 6x14's I have a set in mind but will keep it under wraps for now ) Engine wise, I'm just gonna drop the 1.5 ti lump from my black one into this one, as I know that it runs well and I already changed the belts, water pump, etc a few years back. Interior I will keep stock. Cheers 'boxerman' I can wait either, although can't see it being finished till next summer, but then that will be cool as I'll be able to cruise around in it with the sunroof all the way back!! As for the strut brace, I'll find out if they're still available from anywhere here in the UK, I can't remember where I got mine, will have a look through my receipts. Your Sud is very sweet mate, very very nice.

I paid very very little for the series 2 BUT the only reason that happened was because the owner knew my dad back ages ago (my dad used to maintain the car for him) and I promised to get it back on the road and show him when its done.

ok, so the 16v engine is now attached to the 1.5 box and is now in the engine bay. Just need to get the front pulley machined down so it clears the radiator and then box it all up. After that, need to get the inlet manifold machined to accept the carbs and then I'll be close to firing it up See pics; Jaty.

I hope just in time,
do not machine the pulley to clear the radiator, i't will definitely kill your engine.
standard 16v pulleys, have a vulcanised rubber ring as a vibrationdamper. that ring will be halfway loose if you machine the pulley, so if you rev the engine, the pulley will fall apart, and the bits will go through your radiator and bonnet. also the timingbelts will go offtime, and kill at least 8 valves.
what you need to do, is weld one new pulley from the 2 old ones, take the centerpiece of the 16v, and weld the wheel of the sudengine to it it will save your engine
