Ok guys had this car sinse november 2000, it had sat in a garage from 1980 to 2000 took me 3 months to fix it up for its first mot in 20 years. I used the car for a couple of years in its oridgenal guise as brilliant orange, then decided to follow my dreams and do it yellow. Time and enthusiasm were short and although i had started doing the car in 2002/3 it had remained in primer since march this year when i decided i would get her done for my (currently) unborn sons trip home from the hospital (pending soon). I had decided that i would sell the car this year if i didnt complete it. I have incuded my web site URL of the Restoration in prefference to posting loads of pics. by all means feel free to do so if you wish. www.scsoc.freewebpage.org/user/small/index.htmTrouble is now this ones done i have the other halfs to do! (its never ending)

This is true RMAD the guy that had your S110R (yellow one) broke it! pointlessly as he then dumped the spares, which i rescued, there was a box marked " YLU" inside the box consisted of lights, horns, indicators etc. A lot of those parts (indicators - re-cased, Centre spots,Door lights) i used on my coupe not much of a recognition to your old car but... least it kind of lives on.

I know the story of YLU ended badly, but it makes me very pleased to know that bits of it are in your lovely example...of all my cars (and that's a lot) YLU holds the greatest memories...it's the car I drove when I met my Wife, it got a picture in Custom Car, it was the car I used to get my eldest son to go to sleep in by going on late night drives (he's now 12!) and was also the catalyst in me making some very good friends. I'd like to think that it also raised the profile of S110Rs (and old Skodas in general) and is partly responsible for the recognition the model now has outside the normal Skoda circles. If your car is at a show and I'm there, could I perhaps have a quiet moment alone with it?

long as you supply the tissues! sure! sadly I'm unable to make bromley this year as my other half is due to give birth around that time. but hoping to be at uxbridge all going well. I'm intending to pick up Elaine (other half) and (newborn) from the hospital in the S110R - hence one of the main factors in the rush to finnish her. Something to look back on in years to come.
