One bolt removed from the suspension and its now sitting on the shocks Looks to be ok for wheels clearance but would benifit from some tuck and skinnier tyres at the front With more camber You can see how much its dropped (about 6") I wish i could drive it like this!!

Looks like the front will require a coilover conversion to get it where i want it. Does anyone know of a car which has shocks with a threaded stud fittings at both ends (that you can get coilovers for?) Uno brake conversion is on the cards too ;D Skoda Estelle/Rapid uses shocks with a single threaded mount at the top, and at the bottom. The bottom looks like it has two bolt mounting, but that is just held to the a single nut at the bottom

I took out the bolt that held the bottom of the wheel in and pullled it out a bit. take a look at the last pic and you can see where the bolt goes through the upright at the top and through the spring at the bottom!

Can you raise the spring? (as done with Triumph Herald rear springs?).
Looking into lowering parts and techniques for Triumph (Herald/Spitfire etc) rear ends or HA Viva fronts might give you some ideas.

Have you seen the double wishbone set-up with coil-overs like this: www.fiat500sport.com/def.asp?l=ENG&sku=2CF3628D160F Look at Front and rear suspension Art.0479 Sports suspension kit Its lots of money but I recon that it could be made much cheaper. I was thinking of making my own version of this for my car, it might be worth looking at if you want to ger radical with yours

It allways looks worse from underneath. If you took most retro cars and had a good session with a pointy hammer you would find the same thing. This is a good example! honest!

too many threads, not enough time! I'm not sure how I missed this but, what a project. Hats of to you for picking something that rusty and sticking with it. By the way those rollover jigs are sweet, must get some of those myself.

Saying that my Manglebox looked a bit like that underneath but I've sworn not to do another ruster like that unless it's REALLY old.
Speaking of which I must get down to the garage...
