Please excuse my terrible photoshop. Just got it home last night, a thorough inspection has revealed no serious rot, a new fuel filler neck, a new fuel tank ( !!!!!!! ) new solid fuel lines and best of all, a brand new weber twin choke carb. and....after i'd put the correct rotor and dist cap on it even ran....perfectly i might add..... lovely. PS - if someone with better photoshop skills than me ( VERY likely ) would like to shop some fat VW or weller steelie on there in black, hat would be champion !! ta..

60mm isnt enough!! I regretted not going for -80mm on mine as soon as i'd done it. Looking damn good on those Gti rims tho.

the problem i've got with the 80mm is that i'd have to get shorter shocks/inserts right ?? and this is a serious budget project ......I'm baulking at the cost of the springs alone....and no chopping of coils sadly, as it'll be for sale one day.. edit - might have lined up a gti oil filter housing and oil cooler....now to resist the temptation to have it stuck out on the front bumper with the hoses going through the grill........

Ahhh yes, wasnt thinking budget-wise, i seem to recall that keepin orig. shocks was the reason i initially chose -60mm drop springs. Had to cut the bump stops down a bit, but that was it. Guess i'm just being picky really. I'll be quiet now. It'll look great dropped a bit tho.

another busy morning, put the other two ( rusty ) wide steelies on, changed the steering wheel for the old one out of my mk1 driver ( four button type ) took the bumpers off, pulled the plugs and checked them - nice and clean. Next, an oil change...AND...an oil cooler and filter assembly from a gti...just because i ( almost ) have those bits lying about doing nothing....really getting somewhere now....more pics later when i find some fresh batteries for the camera... nice car Stu..
