brought one of these (1.6), and desided it would make beautiful love with one of these (engine), first mistake was getting a 1.6 capri (tank/exhausts/brakes/etc were all rubbish!). after far to much driving around the country (ebay) i got the x-member (x2) tank (x2) pas rack (x2) rear axle (x1), front suspension (x1), gearbox, and other various c*ap. wheels were originally so i had to replace something which would go over the brakes, and fit (sorta). anyway, they meant 190lb -1" springs to stop the rubber being shreaded, and I'm going to gring the arches (big lips, ooh err missus) just in case. ive got a load of other various c*ap to do to it. ill put some more pics up in a minute.

Looking good there, love those splitrims. Have u put in any of the strengthening pates into the pinto shell which the v6 models had 'cos although they don't look mutch they certainly make a diference.
I quite like those starmags, if ur not using them are they for sale and what size rubber goes on them. On my capri I've got 205's on my 13" slotmags.

It looks good on those 15s! ps. Steve, these are Starmags: ...although they're rarer in Ford fitment. Dave's old wheels are Allycats.

Penguins, the only choice IMO. I have seen this car Dave, respek, i forgot Great work, wish i'd started with a stock 1.6. Good man. Have you figured out all the wiring yourself?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

thats gonna be sweet when you're finished. don't be put off by the rust, you get used to it when you own a capri and yours look in better nick than mine when I got it (its had wings, bonnet, tailgate, doors, entire n/s a post, footwell, you get the idea by now!). if you want to put more strength in the shell, like some one suggested, you'll need the gussets on the strut tops and thats about it. a handling secret is to put a towbar on, or more specifically, the brace part of the 'bar that joins the rear chassis legs together. looking forward to seeing it come together oh, capri sport do a book with diagrams that tells you how to wire a cossie into a capri, just in case you get stuck

1 - alleycats got sold to a bloke with a talbot in mansfield. 2 - shaving mirror wheels have 205/50/15 rubber. 3 - wiring was 'quite' simple. fortunatl theres a load with that engine on interford. 4 - apparantly the wings are new as the old ones had been kicked in and someone tryed to set it on fire. lad told me this after i gave him the cash. 5 - gussets are just triangular pieces yeah? 6 - ill make something for the rear chassie legs then. cheers!

Looking good Dave... trying not to be tempted by a cheap black Capri at the moment.
Where did you get your new wheels from, if you don't mind?
Cheers, Greg.
