Yep the tin worm sure has had a feast on it.. But a friend of mine know the entire history of the car, he has done all repairs on it. It has never been welded on before  The only dodgy thing is the lousy paintjob |

you got yourself a blank canvas . feels so much better when YOU'RE putting in tin and generally doing it proper, not fixing someones half  d bodge they done 5-10 years previous just to get another mot on it. you just gotta remember it will be fantastic when you've finished. and repeat until blue in face..... |

Thats the spirit! Well, hope my welder comes soon, just ordered it ;D oh, and i ordered new channels (not sure if that is what its called in english, the lower part of the car) and new reararches too..

That would be a P1 or something, they look like small chevys ;D There`s a farily decent one for sale not far away, just need exteriour paint and assembling the front brakes, and its done. Rekord A went from 62(?) to 65, rekord b only in 66, and rekord c officially came in 67, although there is a few 66 rekord c`s around The reason i want a rekord a:   mmmm, CIH carb power..  |

So clean, fantastic! Styling a bit like the Cresta PB perhaps? I suppose they were all influenced by the early 60's GM stuff from America.

hehe.. Well, i have ordered my welder... A Moeco, dunno if its available outside Norway though.. Kinda nervous about getting it, some people say its excellent, some say it sucks. But those who say it sucks have no other arguments other than that its too cheap..
Edit: The welder is a MigMate 150dp i think, i read wrong about the name

Well.. Due to the car looking like this:  i have spendt my time getting stuff for it. Dellorto 40\40 DHLA carbs, and a small Dino steering wheel, with correct hub. Gonna use the square chrome mirrors from the rekord D until i can get my hands on some round ones.  |

I love the shape of these old opels. My next door nieghbour had a vauxhall victor 101 that had a very similar shape to your rekord, I always wanted to get my hands on that car and give it some serious slamage ;D Looking forward to seeing these two take shape  |

Oh, and i forgot, i have some shorter springs for it too, ascona b 55mm lowering springs, they`ll lower about 55+40 on the rekord Although, it would be better to have original ascona springs in the rear, as the rearend gets lower than the front with ascona springs. Unbolted the manifolds today, loosened the rad some, but have to get the engine out before i can get that out, the curse word is stuck. Hopefully tomorrow, i`ll manage to get up before 4 in the afternoon, then i`ll take off the front fenders to have a look, and perhaps get the head off. And loosen the exhaust under the car, so i can get the manifolds out. Oh yeah, i tried starting it, you never know. But the engine is dead allright... |
