HI! Welcome!  Love your wedge, saw it at RCS and its a real peach! I really like Princess's and Ambassadors, nearly baught a black one once but an image concious mate talked me out of it  What are your plans? Any modifying going on? |

Loving the lateness of the x reg wedge, can't be many around on an x? Had a X reg woodhall nicholson converted wedge hearse a few years back, still had all the original decking & rollers in the back - weighed an absolute shed load! Managed to move my mate off his digs at RAF st mawgan in one hit, got some funny looks at the pass office by the main gate! We removed the decking, arranged all his stuff so it was below deck height and slid it back in..... Good times! Packing as it did the silky smooth 2.2 striaight 6 coupled to an auto box it was surprisingly nippy & shockingly bad on 4 star. We once got an indicated 110 out of it on the A30 towards roche, not bad for 4's up (all living)  |

Well, as you know it has twin-carbs and Recaro interior, but it could do with more power, 100bhp isn't really enough, though it's more than BL gave it!

You can read more about this Princess at www.leylandprincess.co.uk/ST1.htm which is part of the website I run for Wedges. Although it's an X plate, it was actually built in 1980 but sat at the dealers for 14 months before someone was brave enough to buy it. Bright Snapdragon yellow wasn't very popular on this size of car in 1980! Kev. |
