TommyG. yes i think its a hot rod, but a lot of hot rodders would not agree, hood scoop is home made and at the moment is a buck for the fibreglass mould to be taken from it,it will have a hole in the front and is totally functional (see air filter hight). the motor is a small block chevy 355 cu in,its got a steel crank, flat top forged pistons, stock heads at the moment but looking for alloy race ones, wieand semi high rise inlet, 750 cfm holley 4 barrell, nitrous oxide fogger direct injection system, plus loads of other boring stuff this lot is running through a turbo 350 auto box, to an 8 inch ford rear axle with mini spool, this is held in by a 4 bar link system, front end is strut and home made lower control arms and escort rack all rose jointed, chassis is box section with 14 point rollcage, steel floor with alloy wheel tubs, rear wheels are 10+15 with 12.5 in tyres fronts are 5+13 with 155 tyres, 80% of the body is fibreglass and all work was done by myself in a single width garage.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

TommyG: i don't know what the box is out of nor the engine, i bought both of them from bifferent people and allready out of the car, i think you should go for the small block in your would be great everyone should have a V8 in there car, as for what box to use the 350 is smaller and lighter than the 400 and every bit as good so long as you don't put to much BHP through it, a 350 box should cope with 500 BHP easy enough. thanks the rest of you for your comments, if you want to know what some of the hot rod community think is a hot rod check out mrsigmas 32 ford pic with the totty on the hood,as far as die hard hot rodders are concerned a hot rod has to be a car built before 1949 and nothing else will do, thats why i like this forum you except the car for what it is, small car big engine loads of smoke from rear tyres.

welcome to the forum, loving the 100E! imho a hot rod is more to do with the attitude than it is whether or not you have a '32 Ford!

Superb piece of kit! I know it's a way off yet... but any thoughts on colour yet?
|
|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Nice car I am shocked to hear that there is car snobery in the 'Hot Rod' world. Surely the one can not go with the other , almost a contradiction !
