Just 5 mins ago won this from the divorce rate increaser that is Ebay!! Well chuffed, will need a bit more grunt as its a weazy 1600 but its solid and has potential. Lower it, 13inch ATS alloys, smaller tyres, usual bits.... and of course its Rear wheel drive.. Bargain at less than £58

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Going to fetch it on Friday, already lined up a 2 litre lump with Weber and ported head, fit it with Electronic Ign and it should be ok for now... Shame I sold the Turbo Manta engine I had...

Right so far I've got hold of an early Manta GTE interior with Recaros for it, Manta GTE Springs and shocks, going to swop the wheels to Period Alloys to see if it looks better or not. Need to swop the steering wheel for an Early 3 spoke Alloy one from a Manta B and then it gonna get the 5 speed with the tuned 2 litre later... Only downside..its going to have to have a towbar Need to tow my bike trailer about..

Was that the one in Hartlepool. I was sorely tempted to put a bid in when I saw it sitting at about £52 a couple hours before the end.

I think you should leave the interior standard, it looks freakin great!!! Look at the carpet!!!1 the proper engine and 5-speed box sound compulsory however.
I'm always entertained by the long, cranked-back gearstick on these old cavs for some reason.

Yeah this was the one in Hartlepool, I waited up until 1:30am when it finished...looked like not many people did the same, got it cheap...
I was wanting to keep the interior standard but its quite badly faded in places, especially across the top of the rear seat, I reckon I'll keep it like this for a while as the seats are miles away and will be collected when I get a chance...but the mods will happen to the suspension and engine etc..

Nice! Always liked these, went to look at a lairy (standard) green 2000GLS years ago - I remember the very dark interior and tinted glass. There's a faded yellow one I see sometimes see in Norwich.

Well I got lucky there, underneath the car in all the usual rust traps its like new, had it on the ramp and had a good poke about...rock solid everywhere!! Got to start looking at swopping bits over now, the fuel gauge doesn't work and the poxy standard clocks look poo so its going to get the 6 clock dash with Rev counter etc from an early Manta, that'll be the first job for it after I sort the door.

Door straight..ish, will get the final creases out and a skim of filler on it.. Gor the 6 Clock dash in, now have the usual Speedo, Temp, Fuel and now have Oil pressure, Volt meter and Rev counter..
Going to test fit the Recaro's and take some pics to see what it looks like, then lower it and sort the wheels...

It was from Blackhall Rocks, just North of Hartlepool. Was a bit dodgy, could have murdered a cuppa but I didnt stop there long.. ;D What do people think of the Recaro Interior...? This.... ...to this. This... ...to this. The original interior looks the part but the front seats are as supportive as a poundstrecher bra and they're a bit faded ;D
