the one and only pic i have on my pc.
had this 10 years now, but not really payed much attention to it for a couple of years.its just been sitting in my garage.
now that I'm happy with the way the benz is its time to give it some attention.
all the welding has been done, all the usual stuff, the bottom 12 inches, the floor and outriggers.
the original engine burst on the way home from newquay (97 bug blast) but still kept going to get us home.used as much oil as petrol.that was replaced with a cheap 2nd hand block to which a set of new barrels, pistons and unleaded heads were fitted.
developed an oil leak in 2002 so i put it in the garage ready to sort.didnt get round to doing it until last year.flywheel oil seal was shot.took it to bits fitted the seal and then left the engine sitting on the floor stuffed in the engine bay so i could close the garage door.
the plan for it now is to fit a turbo diesel motor, was planning on a vw unit but i may have sorted a cheap, decent running pug 1.9 tdi unit.
will need an adaptor plate, cross member and some rads.not looking forward to the wiring but il fob that off onto jonathan (jarvis on here).
il put the a/c in for the short term, so i can move it about and try to get a test on it so i can bring it to the house to work on.shouldnt need much, brake clean up and a bulb check.
will need a fresh coat of red oxide and a big hit with the sticktm. ;D
il get some more pics too.
