Hey, just joined the forum, this is my mk2 escort- I bought it completely standard 6 years ago, been gradually improving it since then, started off as a 1.3 but its now running a 2.1 pinto, only got 120bhp but that will change over the winter so look out for it at the pod next year! heres my most recent spec- Engine: 2.1 pinto, lightened & balanced, ported head, bronze valve guides, 300 cam, vernea, 38 dgas, rolling road- 119 bhp, 117.6 lb ft torque at 5753 rpm Transmission: sierra type 9 5 speed, group 4 single piece prop, RS2000 3.5 diff Suspension: 2 8 capri front bilsteins 190lbs springs lowered 2", group 1 bilstiens & lowered 2" on rear with standard leaf springs, all front suspension bushes changed to polybushes Brakes: 3 litre capri rear drums, capri sport 260mm front discs with mk3 granada calipers, EBC pads, goodridge brake hoses, landrover master cylinder, RS2000 servo Body: x-pack body kit, cibie spotlights Interior: full RS2000 custom interior Wheels: 7x13" superlite, 205 60 13 tyres

Think the engines got breathing probs so gonna put another pinto in and hopefully run it on throttle bodies, entered it in the old skool ford drag championship so hoping it will do well, only issue will b when i stall it at the lights

If you're running throttle bodies are you going to be using Injection as well??

bottom end is breathing heavy, took the carb off the other day and there was oil in the manifold, my boyfs a mechanic and is as in2 the old skool as me so he's got a few pinto's lying around & is gonna let me have one of his so i don't have 2 get mine rebuilt bless him ;D

yeah, thought i recognised those fiestas! i've been told you can get breathers but would b no good with my engine cause its most likley piston ring related

no, checked the compression for some other reason (i cant remember!) and it was fine

i don't even kno what a breathing problem is tbh! i'm getting a better, more powerfull and more drivable engine outta it tho so i'm not complaining ;D

I'm defo very lucky! was raised with a mk2 rs2000 as our daily driver and a dad who knows enough about mk2's to let me put this car 2gther on a budget, now i've met my boyf through old skool ford and he work's on them for a living so my car's hit the jackpot again!
