I'll echo the above, it looks brilliant! Nice chunky wheel/tyre look too, I approve.
On a related note, my old bronze 5dr is still going strong, spoke with its new owner last week and it should be in the bodyshop as we speak. He loves it.

Thanks heaps for the positive comments guys... it appears there is one spot in the floor I will have to do some minor welding on to get a Warrant of Fitness for the car this week, nothing major however. The SSR Mark 1's should be back on this weekend, so I'll take some shots of it shod with those again... in the meantime here's a pic of some of the curse word that is destined for the car (although most of it is shelf-borne for the rest of it's life) that I've acquired over the past months.

So, I picked these up on Friday night, and after a 5hr round trip to get them, fitted them up for a quick trial. They're genuine Hayashi Street Fins, 14x6.5 with a 0 offset.... unfortunately they don't quite fit, the rear is fine, as the lip is flush with the rear guard, but the fronts stick out about an inch past the guards. I don't really want to put flares on the car, and guard modding is a bit of a sore point due to having painted it only a month ago.... any ideas, I desperately want these rims on the car.

Some tyre stretching should solve that!

I hope so! They're got 185/70's on them as it sits, which are far too balloony for my liking... I'm going to scrounge some used tyres off a tyre place and have a play to see what fits AND looks good.

That's another option, crank a few degress negative camber on there, I don't know if I'd need camber plates or what however, I'll have a chat to a local suspension guy. Unfortunately it's going to have to wait due to money.... as per usual!

OOOoooooofffff! stretch tyres was my best suggestion too. be rough for the paint to get prematurely scratched though after all that! only othr suggestions is some thing to cover the arch and stick out a bit like a big long mud flap, or different wheels Top notch though, agree with street, it does look brand spangly new!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I am currently investigating bolt on fibreglass flares... if I swing in that direction, they'll be black flares, smoothed to enable them to be held on with countersunk stainless screws... what do we reckon about that idea? The more I consider it, the more I like it.

I reckon they'd look cool as a very cool thing! So, another set of cheap but excellently wicked (or wickedly excellent) wheels that came with a car to sell on?

No these ones came without a car this time Not as cheap as well, at $300 NZD, but I still think that is reasonable given I've had my eyes open for a set for some time!

Been a while, nothing much has changed on the car. Except: Bit the bullet and refurbed them, still needs a damn good spot of droppage but thats in the works. Car has come off the road now, coilovers are being made, pulling the old 4K, replacing with a 5K, K50 and 4.1:1 6" diff..... hopefully she'll be rockin' come summer time, low, cambered, and torquier than before. Better pics to follow, that one was taken up at oldschool.co.nz nationals. Also, joined by this transient Starlet a few weeks ago:

Well, progress is stupidly slow on the old girl.... been devoting a lot of time to the new toy, and running trackdays in it.... and generally thrashing it as often as I can, so the KP has suffered and currently sits in the garage with registration on resto hold..... I still manage to accumulate some parts every now and then. The white car above has been completely stripped of anything useful (factory option Fujitsu tape deck FTW!!!) and the very rotten shell shipped off to the scrappies to be melted down and sent to China.... Anyway, the car kindly donated a set of struts, which will shortly be united with these parts that arrived in a box from the States: I also saw this advertised, saw it's wheels and simply couldn't resist, so a quick phonecall to the owner and we rolled around with a trailer to grab it... And as such, I've ended up with a collection of scrap alloy like this now... But yeah, extra income has started flowing in, so the work on the struts conversion to a set of height adjustable coilovers will begin in a couple of weeks, working on finding the appropriate short stroke insert to accomodate the lower ride height and shorter springs...
