This is my first post so be gentle This is our 1303 Beetle (called Roobarb-its a dub thing) we bought him at the end of last summer and is our first retro ride. He was originally owned by an oil company that used him as test hack for new lubricants during the mid 70s, then he was bought by the test driver and used for a few years until they wanted to tidy him up with a respray, then he was sold to the previous owners who took him to Stoner Park VW show in the early 1990s before resting him in a garage till we bought him. We've kept the car stock, but will be lowering the front soon to improve the look and handling, in the mean time he makes a great weekend fun car and we've been to lots of shows and club meets. We've got a website with lots of pictures of the car and all the shows we've been to at www.speedman29.co.uk/

Very clean car - I know those 1302/1303 were slightly looked down by some hard core VW fanatics, but I specifically wanted a 1302S - as it was the best compromise of the evolution. Put a sack of spuds at the front to even out those macpherson struts - that will sort out your ride height!

After an MOT failure on the leaking front shocks, they been taken out and sorted and unfortunately the springs got mixed up when they were put back on Before After

No more plans as yet, might be fitting some GTs instead of the stock wheels but thats about it, as the car is so original

Excellent - the subtle lowering of the front just makes the shape work so much better Reminds me of the good times we had in a mate's Bronze 1303, he stuck the Empi GTV stripes on like the 1303 below... It had GT wheels and had the obligitory Zoom tube ;D Reckon you should leave yours just as it is
