Nice work!!! I like the K-Series engine. How does it drive? Fast no doubt! ;D ;D It drives fantasticly i use the car every single day clocking up some 200 miles a week, just ask Minon hes had numerous rides in the car, it isnt the Kseries tho, Its a HONDA D series was fitted to the older shaper 216 gsi and gtis when honda owned rover and also in the honda CRX. The k series 1.6 was fitted to the bubble 216 and does not produce anywhere near as much power as this does standard, doesnt rev to 7.5K, and weighs slightly more. The honda engine rotates the other way anti clockwise hence why it sits on the oposite side of the engine bay compared to normal FWD cars , which is probaly why it isnt usually used in other engine swaps, but it has helped the weight distribution seeing it contarcts my weight slightly. I have completed a coupl eof track days in teh car donington, and goodwood. been to the drags with it and had some fun. It surprises many people with just how quick it is particularly from a standing start. yet it still does good fuel economy. having your cake and eating it WEST

Current best so far at the drags is 14.07 at 99.99mph with loads of wheelspin and the high Mph suggests there is a high 13 run in the car, so thats the first target get into the 13s and crack the 100mph so close.....but with the updated gearing i may have hurt my quaters slightly but its far better on the trackdays and on the road, a bit more relaxed cruising, i use the car every day its my only car... oh and before you ask best 0-60 at the mo is 5.2 timed correctly as well. ;D

Just on a side note the GTM has now entered an exclusive club of sub 5 sec 0-60 recently,,,,right time to get to the drags and see how the new launch technique works for the quater mile,

I used to have a GTM, one of the only cars I regret selling. There was one up at the jack frost stages with a b16 or b18 in iirc, rapid little car

I had a Rover 416 GTi auto with a tan leather interior and my mates took the curse word and called it a grandad car - until i took them out in it!
When it grabbed the next gear at over 7k it launched forward like nothing else on the road, that was a great engine and absolutely made the car. Surprisingly it's actually quite a long stroke engine, so torque isn't bad either.
Now having that engine in the great little featherweight GTM? That's gotta be better than a Ferrari Dino/308/etc, it's actually genius.

Holy thread revival batman, I hve not been on here for ages, a friend of mine told me the old thread has popped up, boy how things have moved on.
The GTM on the rally if it was blue was prob the B16 one i know of, and there is a red one with a vauxhall lump in to doing rallies.
Mine these days is now running B18 power and also Nitrous too when drag racing. It has progressed so much, still very much understated in looks for its performance,Its much quicker now!

Oh yes she does get used for daily duties, inhibination at the moment tho and awaiting a new exhaust system as the current one is slightly restrictive. I'm now running a Forged B18C4 with a few mild tweeks built for nitrous use in mind. On A048r went 12.5 at shakespeare last year nasp and have been know to dip into the 10s with the nitrous best to date 10.87. Fully road legal and driven to and from the track. Trying to get some of the other projects done on it this year like the exhaust. Problem is I keep wanting to use her rather than doing the next mods. Does not really need any more power to be honest on the road it can be so lasy, leave her in 5th and just potter around.
