Hello everyone, I posted pictures of the old "Readers Ride" section on the other section, but I didn't go into much detail with pictures. So here are some more development pictures: This is how the car looked when I first got it: Then we took the existing wheel arches off, ready for the box wheel arches: Once we had most of the interior, and added the box wheel arches: It was time to take it to be painted: Then we were ready to put the 4 pot calipers on, and 15x8" wheels: Then we did a bit more to the interior: and it was ready to go to its first show, the ASOC National Day 2003. Which it came second in the modified class: I have a few more plans for it. Mainly a Lotus engine, as I want to get it a complete replica of the 1981 Sunbeam rally car from the WRC. I also have a few shows lined up for this year, maybe Retro Cars 2005, not 100% sure though. Thanks for reading, Curt

I was 14 went I built it with my dad.
It sounds like I just passed him the spanners, but it wasnt. We did it between us, 50-50. The car taught me a lot about mechanicing, and we spent many hours over the 2002 winter period preparing the car for the summer.
It was a great experience, and the rewards were brillaint. All of my friends at school thought I was joking when I told them I owned a rally car which I built. They either thought that I was making it up, or that it was my dads.
I can't wait to start my next project. A Peugeot 205 1.4 conversion to a rally car. The parts will be easier to get for this as my dad owns a Independant Peugeot garage. I hope to rally it in the 2006 season of the 205 Challenge. I will post pictures of it once I purchase one.

i like your beam, my mate introduced tehm to me he had a fast road tuned ti with cage when we were at college we had such a laugh in our cars as we were the only ones who owned rear wheel drives out of our college mates. hes now got a small collection and even a 100%original lotus beam which he regularly uses for trackdays, we had such a laugh at donnington then at goodwood a month later.
