as title suggests. I recently enquired about one of these with an opportunity to buy.....comments were good so ive took the plunge... don't know anything about the old skodas. but spec is as follows 1992 j reg 5 dr 1.3 petrol. brown dash (some said it made a difference??) Test is 11 months few months tax, think 2 but will check paintwork is i'd say 8/10. most panels are excellent but theres a bit of bubbling around the wheel arches, nothing major tho. as for welding its had two plates roughly 3-4" long at the rear of both sills, ie nr the back wheels. another small plate on the nearside rear shock bulkhead thingy (inside the boot ;D) best of all its a genuine 46k V5 confirms ownership from the 1st to 2nd owner as being 1994, so the first old boy had it roughly 2yrs, then the second had it til he sadly passed away. starts, stops and runs great with no known issues, think it did something stupid like 400 miles between the last mot and this one. annoyingly I only have one pic as yet. as for price, people have suggested anywhere between 200-600. as its got plenty of Test I'm gonna offer it around the £375 mark. anyone interested can pm me or email on kieranbecky12@hotmail.com thanks, and more pics when ive collected it.

brown dash is because it's a Mk1 - which means fragile but very retro brown interiors. also means its carbed, which is woohoo except the later EFi is more powerful lol. the only thing i'd look at with such low mileage is sticky rear brake cylinders, but given they're a tenner each at factors, not an issue!

Yep its the Mk1 which is why I asked. More fragile door interior, but the dash and seats are much more better made. Also even though the later Glxie's had slightly more power they weighed a lot more. As such what youve got is probably the fastest out of all of them. Rev the nuts off it and see how well they go Oh and don't worry about the leaning suspension on them, they hold the road fantastically Does the log book say its a 135, or a 136?

GLXiE's are faster and torquier.

erm youve forgotten about all the extra streghtening in the doors? ??Will speak to DavidTQ on Skoforum, he will tell you all the differences in weight and explain why all the rally boys use Mk1 shells. Ive passed the details of this car onto a mate of mine so hopefully he will come back to you. He always says he wants my Mk1's when I own them so we shall see? ??

8-)Worth every penny. All Favorits drive well, but a Mk1 drives better in my opinion. Actual outright performance figures aren't hugely different, but the carbed non catalyst Mk1 is the "enthusiastic drivers" choice! Mk1's are also pretty rare now and this one looks in very good condition indeed. The Favorit regardless of type is a hugely under-rated car. Good luck with the sale and feel free to ask any of us Skoda nutters for help if needed.

He always says he wants my Mk1's when I own them so we shall see? ?? lighter mk1 makes for better acceleration, but EFi makes top end faster, and you did say 'fastest' mate... show me a standard mk1 that can hit a ton and i'll admit i'm wrong that said i do agree the mk1 is the better enthusiastic car and the mk2 is more comfort orientated. definitely a good buy this one too darrel has your mate seen the red 'rally-prepped' one on ebay?

Yep the rally prepped one needs reshelling though. This one on here sounds perfect pretty much ready to go. So far he's not liking the colour, but I'm working on him. Lets face it none of the Mk1's ever came in nice colours

My Mk1 Favorit Estate always went well... and certainly hit an indicated ton quite a few times, my LXi (admittedly lower powered) felt sluggish in comparison.
Anyway, I thought the 136 engine produced 62bhp and the later EFI was 67bhp... I'm sure the weight differences counts for 5bhp, so they should be fairly equal. Saying that, my Dad's Felicia Mpi is a fair bit faster than my Mk1 Fav
