Just to remind everyone that GT4 is gonna be released on the 9th March, its already on sale in the States and from what i've heard on various forums and websites they're touting it as the best Gran Turismo yet. With a wide variety of Retro Cars from the humble Ford Model T right through to the Ford RS200 and everything in between this looks set to be the best game on the market for us Retro Car fans.
I'll waiting outside HMV on Wednesday morning, hopefully i'll get a copy.

i never thought of that you need a licence for any equipment capable of receiving TV signals, whether or not you have an aerial. This includes TV, Video, TV Card in a PC etc etc etc. Only exclusions are devices which are powered by their own internal batteries, and you can watch TV in a caravan on your home licence as long as there's nobody at home watching yours. only way around it is to use a monitor instead of a TV, something that doesn't pick up TV signals - whack your PS2 video output into it and it'll work fine. ideal ones to look for are 15khz-capable ones, like you used to use on Amigas and Ataris. They have the right video input too.

They have the right video input too. A common fallacy. You don't need a licence. I have a very nice sony WEGA in my living room connected to my DVD player and games systems...Got a PC in there too to stream music and video. I contacted the Licencing bods to query this. As I do not receive signals, I do not need a licence. All they ask is that the TV is de-tuned. My email from them: So go ahead, get a PS2 and a second hand telly. Don't let the TV licencing people bully you, however. They do like to pick on students. Just contact them in the first instance and inform them that you are purchasing a TV to use a games system, give them your details and ask them to update their systems to reflect this. *n

Welcome to the dark side One thing - when you buy the telly, pay by cash and don't fill anything in with your address. A lot of companies collate these and pass them on to the licencing authorities. *n

I'm not sure if those pictures on Curts forum are all real, the Ferrari is certainly not since GT can't obtain a license to put Ferrari's in there game.
