Dolly Sprint vs 2002DarrenW

As the poll says... Both were sporting saloons aiming at the top end of the market, both had similar power and engine sizes, both were advanced for the time (16v head and fuel injection), but which would you prefer now? I really can't decide... I love 2002s but I've always fancied a really clean Dolly Sprint too... Pics to support your choice would be welcome ;D

I drove both for Classics (plus an Avenger Tiger). On the day I chose the Dolly. But I went out and bought an 02... Why? The 02 is just a better car for everyday use and IMHO, looks cooler. AND you don't have to deal with Rimmer Brothers and their joke-shop prices. Although Jaymic can be a bit of a laff with their prices (take the price from your local BMW dealer and add 5% generally). They're both cool cars, though.

Dolly Sprint! They're somehow just "harder" than the '02. Unless we're counting '02 turbo's which are just incredible!

Harder? 02 Turbos are just harder to drive... scared the living sh1t outta me!!!
Halfway around a wet roundabout in £17k's worth of someone else's 02 Turbo when the Turbo wakes up.... lots of crossed up, mucho brown trousers but I didn't hit anything.
The damn thing defines Turbo lag. Fast, tho....

I had a dolly sprint for a while and I found the handling soft and wooly. Might have been a bit shagged tho!!
Would still choose it. 2002 styling just a bit too bland.

Tough one for me Am a massive BL fan but I also love my BMWs. I voted for the 02 as my Grandad had a tii in the '70s and used to regularly drive it at 130mph He had an E21 323i as well in the early 80s, and a 635CSi later on
