I love the colour and would give a grand, subject to the oil leak not being anything too nasty.
If you drop and it fit rimmmzzz you'll harm the price. I couldn't sell my 82 230E slammed for £1000, as soon as I raised it I got £1600 with 2 disappointed buyers.

If you lower it and fit silly rims you will seriously narrow the range of prospective buyers!
Does the car have an MoT? It would sell much quicker and for a higher price if it did.
Whilst the 280E is the range topping W123, the M110 6 cylinder is not considered as long lasting as the four cylinder engines and therefore it is not worth much (if anything) more than a 230E, for example. Judging by the state of the bodywork and interior, £1k is a fair price if the car had a full MoT.
Good luck!

Don't play around with it unless you plan on keeping it, becuase it won't help the sale at all. I would say around a £1000 is a reasonable price as well if it has an Mot.
If it has no Mot and you don't want to put it though, then the easiest way to get shot of it will be to sell to to an exporter, but they will only give you £300 or so.
