Here's the 2 wheeled fleet.
1981 yamaha 350 lc.
This thing goes like stink! 375 bore kit using oversize dt 175 pistons.Barrels had to be skimmed at the base to take the shorter CROWN height pistons. They really live up to their reputation.- A real hooligan tool!
Yamaha TDR 250
Looks a bit like a mad max bike.Doesnt sound like one though.sounds more like a trapped wasp in a jam jar!
Lots of fun for everyday use.sort of bike thats good in this crappy weather were having at the moment.
standard spec apart from k+n filters and jetted up carbs to suit.Around 50 BHP.
RG 500 Suzuki
The ultimate 2 stroke experience.95 BHP - 155 Kgs = warp speed performance for 1985. Hit 7000 rpm and be prepared to be launched into orbit!
fuel economy-hurrendous! but who cares.Awesome Barry sheene GP replica. If you ever get the chance to ride one you'll be addicted!Sadly going to mi brother to pay for the deposit on mi house.
Yamaha trx 850
Ducati style and sound without the reliability problems.Highly underated.
With the harris race cans on you'd think you were in a round of the british superbikes! Big thumping 850 twin four stroke with bags of torque and around 80 BHP
Honda MT 125 -1977 GP racer
This is the bike i learned to race on.Only 25 BHP but makes up for that in corner speed. With a narrow powerband between 9000 +11000 rpm - you've got to keep it buzzing.Anything below that and it dies! Come to a hairpin and slip the clutch like hell in first and away you go! Embaresses much bigger bikes round bends and on the brakes.Gerrards bend at mallory-flat out down the straight in top gear, don't shut off and keep it pinned all the way round.Fantastic! will go round there as fast as anything until you come to the back straight! Recently did a practice day there and was keeping up with a modern R6 yamaha with 5 times the power! One of the cheapest ways to get into bike racing.
Spondon yam YZ 250
My first race bike.I was totally wibblepoo when i first started racing. Was struggling to beat a tuned tzr 125 at the three sisters at wigan.Parked it up for a couple of seasons and learned to ride the 125.Got back on this and now competes with period TZ250/350 gp bikes and wins! Advantages are light weight single cylinder motor and a superb front brake.8 years of constant developing has turned a £500 bag o' wibblepoo into a belting bike.
XJ 550 yamaha Earlystocks racer.(Noticed the orange Fetish!) ;D
Another cheap way to start racing.Paid £800 for it and got loads of spares including 4 engines and £250 worth of brand new race tyres which last a full season.Recentley up rated front brakes to twin pot calipers(rules restrict anything better) and fzr1000 320 mm ebc prolite discs,Fatter XJ 600 rear wheel for more tyre contact and ditched the curse word cv carbs in favour of a set of flatslide mikunis off an early GSXR 750 suzuki.Had to modify the inlets to make them fit though cos the carbs are spaced out wider than the originals.Spaced out middle two pots and used standard inlet rubbers.Made offset inlets for the outer two pots and used curved GSX1100 rubbers to bring the spacings to the right size.
Still builing it for this season.Should be a lot better than last time i rode it!
Definatley a mad max sort of bike.Would need brush painting with black hammarite to get the right effect though don't you think?! ;D ;D
