I bought this metro for a decent shell to drop my turbo engine into which leaves me with a spare engine!
1330cc by +60 thou bore Balanced Lightly ported/tidied 11 stud head ARP head bolts 11.5:1 CR Kent 286 Vernier pulley Mapped dizzy Modified carb Intake trumpet Pipercross filter RR setup 100 race miles and 200 road miles since rebuild
Comes from a lap record holding car.
Engine includes gearbox and all ancillaries and is ready to run with the exclusion of a clutch, although included is a metro turbo clutch/flywheel of unknown history is untested.
The engine will be in a car until mid July and so you can see it running if you like.
£500ono
Also available separately is a full Maniflow exhaust including LCB manifold for a NA metro.
Thought I may as well stick it up here as i'm sure i'm not the only person in the world who see's the good points of the Metro. That and it'll fit in someones Mini
Cheers Gary

I have got a full Janspeed system but i'm afraid thats going to be used once the new engines in. Although i heard a rumour somewhere that an RC40 system from a mini makes a reasonable fit but have never tried?

You got the right idea, for a pretty small amount of money and a little work someone could have a nice car, maybe we could offer some kind of bargain deal!

Ok due to the guy who bought it dropping out this engine is up for sale again! As before, its still in the car luckily so you can see it running. I took it to the Retro-Rides 2007 show at Mallory Park a few weeks back and it came second in its class (sub1400cc) behind a mini with a Suzuki 1300 (and a full race motorbike powered Imp but i'm not counting that!). Very respectable lap times, beat a modified Metro turbo, MGB's, an MR2 etc etc. I'm in Hampshire but often go to Oxford so can arrange to meet anywhere in between or at a push somewhere else. Any questions happily answered and if you want pics thats no problem, although it looks like most other A Series engines!

Not to bad actually, I live in Petersfield on the A3 but i work in Alton which is much closer. Are you in a hurry for the exhaust only its on the car at the moment and the engine is still for sale so i'd prefer to keep it all hooked up untill i sell the engine but i'm flexible. I could either meet you in Alton or i could run it up to Basingstoke one day after work for a little beer money.

No i'm not in any particular hurry as my exhaust is still holding together for the moment. I just wondered because i'm due in Basingstoke tomorrow but nevermind. When you've got it off let me know and I will arrange an evening to come over. I actually live in West Sussex and Petersfield is only about 35 mins from me.

Yep the gearbox for this class is not allowed to be changed (with the exception of central oil pickup), so its std 3.44:1.
The engine can include a gear linkage if nessesary
As well as the turbo clutch of unknown history it now includes a working turbo clutch that slipped a little on my moddified 1380 turbo but would probably be fine on this!
