Right, I'm cashing in the tax and this poor car is going to be relegated to the back of the garage unless someone on here wants it. MoT until Feb next year. Clutch no longer judders but I think the slave cylinder may be knackered as after a while, the pedal gets heavy and the clutch fails to disengage fully. My position is simple. Sell for a loss at £250 or spend money I don't have trying to do the thing up. No brainer unfortunately. As a reminder, it is solid but a little rusty on some edges - mainly the front valance and LH rear wheel arch. Handles like a dream (I will miss the handling!) and goes like stink although a service would be a good idea. May be open to an interesting p/ex.

By the way, an extra £50 will net you tax until Feb 08. Come on folks! I've got a (frankly unhealthy) lusting for a bright pink Fiat 126!

Happy to meet you at a train station somewhere - we're on the same coast!
I'd have no worries at all about attempting a trek in this car - cruises quite nicely despite only four speeds.

Cor, everything is breaking (2CV blew up its crossbox yesterday. Very loud!) so the Metro is temporarily back on the road again. Doesn't mean it isn't still up for grabs however! Come on folks!

Wasn't me. Rachel was driving and she phoned me up to say that the steering was shaking at speed, the engine was knocking and there were some strange noises from other places too. Wonder what I'll find when I get home...
There is oil in the engine/gearbox and air in the tyres.

I'm glad I didn't sell this to one of you now!! The engine is best described as knackered. It's had it. It is an ex-engine. Well, I think so anyway.
Nasty rattling and firing on only three cylinders. Doesn't seem to be burning oil though.
Guess I've wasted plenty of dollar on this car then! Best offer above £0.50 gets it. You won't be driving it away. Gutted. So much hassle to save this car only for the engine to die. Offline until tomorrow now so don't expect much input tonight. Need to drown my sorrows - which is hard to do as I don't drink!

Check the valve clearances before you pronounce it dead

Would valve clearances suddenly leap out of adjustment though? T'was running fine last time I used it - has been sitting around for a week or so and now sounds like Jimmy Saville is under the bonnet, shaking his jewellery.
Tim - is available. I'll PM.

Dunno. Maybe I'll whip the rocker cover off and have a gander when I get in. Well, after I've found the V5 for a certain Mr plums... (that's for the VP)
