mates car. You may rememeber it from the "found" thread I did on it while back... Better photos coming soon... basically a doctor's car from new, went into the garage 3 years ago or so for a service and never came out again! Its got 20K on from new, apparently FSH, original service book, etc etc its a Ghia and its got the funky 3 slot hub caps, 2.0 Pinto and 3 speed auto. Its in metallic blue and its utterly unmarked, never painted, never welded, never dented scratched or rusted. No leaks, no mould, interior like new, backseat apparently never been sat on. Be the first! Its almost spooky how untouched this car is. The trans has been rebuilt, new plates, seals, filters, etc. and it also has a new torque converter and just had a full service. Car comes with 12 months MOT and 6 months tax. on offer at probably less than whats invested in it - £1200 A lot of money for a Sierra but its as close to perfect as you'll find. Tell your friends! tell your enemies! Shout it out in the streets!

Thank goodness, its too much $ for me! I needed a good excuse, now my wheels 2007 are confirmed, plus it would be rude to have two neat MK1's. I can ask on Sierra club if nessesary...

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

yup, his exact words to me were "I know its a lot of cash for a Sierra but you've seen it and it runs as good as it looks."

Isn't that a Mk2 grille? I thought the Mk1 had smaller headlight and a "slatted" type grill, or was that just the cheaper models?

I remember my friend having a Y reg Sierra that had a front end the same as these 2 I photographed together in Cornwall in 1996. Another friend had a C reg one which had the solid grille and big lights like the one you sold, so I was wondering if it had a front end from a later one or if Ghias always had that front end from the start.

The Ghia always had the solid "grille without a grille" and larger twin-reflector headlights, right from the start. Lower-spec ones had the small headlights as seen in your pic up to around late 1984 (I think) when they all got the "upmarket" front end. Hope this one's gone to a good home, no need for me to buy a lottery ticket for Saturday now!
