...topless for the summer for SWMBO. Under £1000, and not too far from Milton Keynes. Must have at least a few months MOT, and be reliable and reasonably presentable. Peugeot 205, Volkswagen Golf, Fiat X1/9, Renault 19, Vauxhall Astra, Ford Escort, kitcar, Triumph TR7, Toyota Celica, cheap Yank, etc. Anything, really! Dale

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Peugeot 205 CJ 1.4 Convertible. Great car, J-reg, cheap tax, cheap insurance. Reliable, good on petrol. 67k on the clock (genuine), long MOT & long tax (will check exact details if you are interested). No rust. Driveshafts are ok and don't knock. Great engine, good bodywork.
Bad bits:- Seats ok, not sagging but with a two small rips on the drivers side.
Drivers side window doesn't open, mechanism was bent by previous owner and I've never got around to fixing/replacing.
Key doesn't open passenger side door and there is a small hole in the door where a thief attempted to break in.
Rear window foggy and has two small splits, it's still ok though but not brilliant.
Roof was a bit tatty but has been patched to a reasonable standard (well I did it so I would say that), also replaced the metal bit that the hood clips to on the back (this is the bit that always rusts on these cars but before I replaced it I Hammerited the replacement to stop this happening in future).
No stereo fitted but I'm happy to dig one out that I can give you.
£700.
If you can stump up another £100 I'll also through in a virtually complete spares car (1.6 CTi non runner, no wheels) or any parts that you want from it (although you'll have to remove any parts yourself. if you don't take the whole car).
Car is in London and is currently my daily runner. Pm me if you are interested and I'll give you my 'phone number and you can arrange to come and have a look. Only reason that I might sell is that I've far too many cars and need to reduce my fleet.

Ps. What exactly does SWMBO stand for? I know it's the missus but what does it actually abbreviate?

Peugeot 205 CJ 1.4 Convertible... Hmmm, I'm probably being really fussy, but I think I'm after something more 'spot on', even if a little older/less desireable - don't mind the odd dent, etc, but a good hood and seats, etc, and everything working as it should is pretty much a necessity... Thanks anyway, Dale

Ok, I'd rather be entirely honest and list all the "bad bits" that I'm aware of rather than waste either persons time. Shame though as it's a bloomin' good car.

Thanks anyway, Dale What are your thoughts on a twin-sunroof Panda? Needs a small weld on the sill but that should be sorted within the next couple of weeks (along with new oil, plugs etc). Just re-riveted the roof too. Not really looking to sell, but if you wanna offer something daft be my guest.

Bump.
Where are all the Rover 200 convertibles, Fiat X1/9's, Triumph TR7 convertibles, Vauxhall Cavalier convertibles, Vauxhall Ashtray convertibles, Nissan 100NX's, Fiat Punto convertibles, Renault 19 convertibles, Toyota Celica convertibles, shonky softop kitcars, etc? Needs to be either nice and tidy, or ironically shoite (but still safe and reliable). Dale
