Up for sale is my beloved toy, affectionately known as 'Spazda' or 'Skomazda'.
It is a 1986 Skoda Estelle 105 Lux, a rare car in standard form...
This one has been modified somewhat, the main and most obvious point being the RX7 engine fitted!
Comes with a copy of Retro Cars, where it had a 5 page spread.
Here we go:
Mazda RX7 13B engine fitted.
Volkswagen Type 2 4speed Manual Gearbox.
4 puck clutch, allowing hard lauches.
Custom made gear linkage setup, EXTREMELY short shift.
Line lock fitted.
Got a bracket ready to mount an Eaton M45 supercharger..
Later model Skoda Discs and Pads up front.
Volkswagen Golf GTi Discs and Pads at rear.
Rare bodykit.
Louvred bootlid.
2 x Grey and black bucket seats.
Momo grey and black steering wheel.
Very hard to source boss for fitting above wheel.
Very tidy dashboard, all original looking.
New battery.
New CV joints.
Massive 50ish litre petrol tank, with RX7 pump.
RX7 ECU still fitted, very reliable.
I have probably forgotten 1001 different things about this car, let me think of some more:
Serviced every 500 miles, I will include plenty of oil and spares, including light units, gearboxes, grilles, etc. It has a front mounted radiator and oil cooler, with pipes running front to back. If you didnt know, the engine is at the back!
Comes with 2 exhausts, a Titanium Fireblade bike can, and a twin 5" stainless exhaust, which is stupidly loud. Has a quick change exhaust setup, for drag strip racing. Has a modified exhaust manifold, which is large in diameter, releasing lots of power.
Ultimately reliable, over engineered, I have driven this about 2,000 miles in the last year that I have owned it. I would love to keep it, but buying a house without a garage or even a driveway means I have to pass it on to someone who can care for it more.
Comes with nice new tyres all round, Centreline wheels, rare clear front indicators and side repeaters, etc.
Bad points that I can think of:
Needs speedo/rev counter wiring up.
No heater (hardly a problem)
rear seats could do with a better recovering.
Few small marks on bodywork.
Front splitter needs replacing, comes with one - if I've time, I'll replace it before sale.
Taxed until 5/07, MOT the same. So over-engineered it'll pass MOT'd for years to come.
I've forgotten a lot of things about this car, I apologise... Pics should show more, please email me for more pictures of specific areas, or to come have a look.
Plenty of you will remember this car from ebay, it went for £1350. That was without any wheels , or without a decent gear linkage setup. Wheels and new tyres and doing the linkage properly cost £600 in the end, and I've done shedloads of little bits and pieces to this, that it really really needed. Spent 3 grand in total on buying/upgrading all the little bits and pieces... so I figure £2000 is reasonable? Happy to listen to offers for swaps....
Not trying to make a profit on this, far from it.
If no-one wants it, I'm going to literally rustproof everything, and tuck it in a lockup for a couple of years, til I can get the time and money to put a more powerful engine in it. Going to try fleabay for it, its a good fun car.
Click this one for a little video clip of it 'from the passenger seat'... it doesnt look as fast as it really is!
