Most of the girlfriends I've had have had dull modern eurobox sort of things, but I had one a while back who wanted a classic Beetle, and I know a girl who's after a Mini, despite my attempts to bring her over to the dark side (ie Imp ownership!) ;D ;D ;D

My OH drives a tatty Diesel Astra estate....
make of that what you will..... ;D

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

My other half until recently tore around in a Alfa 33.....I'm pretty lucky really because she likes cars, particularly Triumphs and old British sports cars!
But she doesn't understand why I get animated over a 'bread and butter' car from the seventies and early eighties.....she has a particular disgust for Datsuns.

My better half like very very very expensive cars. If I have classic & sports car open in that middle bit where all the mad rare stuff is, she'll lean over and say "ooh that ones nice" and it'll be a one of a kind Ferrari 365 special! However she also likes 70's BMWs a lot, particularly 3.0 CSLs , which is good as they are one of my fave cars. She learnt to reverse in a 70s Alfa GTV! Currently drives a Seicento, which is ace!!

Ideally, one of these.... I like 'em. MrsB likes them. ALOT! The only problem being the old £££. We could stretch to a ratty Bay - but she REALLY wants a Split. And at £10k+++, it will have to wait! So for now she's gotta rattle about in this.... Yuk!

My girlfriend had an old yellow Beetle, but she had to sell it 'cos it wasn't up to her drive to work every day. So now she's got a 3-cylinder Corsa She absolutely loved the Bug and would really like another

My girlfriend had an old yellow Beetle, but she had to sell it 'cos it wasn't up to her drive to work every day. So now she's got a 3-cylinder Corsa She absolutely loved the Bug and would really like another So the Corsa is an improvement how?? We had one of those 3-cylinder jobbies for a couple of years - Noisy, slow, hideously unreliable and diffuclut to keep running right, uncomfortable, hideously heavy steering, appalling driving position, offensive trim.....shall I go on? Now the Astra we swapped it for (see previous pic) doesn't really float my boat, but is at least 1000x better than the corsa-yuk. Plus the extra we spend on petrol / tax etc. is more than made up on not having the curse word mended all the time.

I know what you mean, but it's got a heater that works, does LOADS more to the gallon, holds more junk in the boot, bits don't fall off it on the motorway leaving a young girl stranded on her own, it'll go over 65mph (just!), it starts every time, first time, it doesn't get ice on the INSIDE of the screen in winter, you can hear the stereo, it's cheaper to insure, parts are easier to get hold of, you can park it anywhere and not worry about it, you get the idea...
She doesn't particularly like it either but she had to get a reliable modern car, and that was the best she could afford... Like I say, she'd love another Bug. I'm trying to persuade her to go for the retro-equivalent to her Corsa and get a 1300 Chevette ;D ;D ;D

I suggested one of these.. Which the missus does like but she wanted something less demanding on keeping on the road & something with a few mod cons aswell.... She'd go for one of these though..
