I'm selling up and everything is going (I think ). Starting with my Commodore 1973 Commodore GS 2.5 automatic. Fresh MOT a couple of weeks ago and 5 months tax remaining. The auto box shifts beautifully. I have changed the gearbox oil and filter and the oil that came out still looked fresh, so I guess it's had regular servicing, though I have no history. The engine had an oil change a few weeks ago. The rear brakes were serviced earlier this week and the fluid was flushed and renewed at the same time. She runs like a dream apart from when cold. It was fine until it went in for it's MOT, so I'm guessing that they 'tweaked' it a little. I should be able to sort that little problem this weekend or early next week. No undue noise or smoke or loss of fluids. The interior is in good condition; no rips tears, burns, etc. The body is pretty solid. It could do with a pair of wings (pattern parts still available). Also, some low life ran a key down the side of it on Sunday. Offers please, I'm not looking for a lot of money for it, just looking to recover my costs as I need the cash for something else. I'm sad to see it go as I've always wanted one, but that's life. I may keep one of my cars, just not decided which one yet. I have decided that the Commo, Datsun and Toyota can go, and I'll decide on the other three later.

I've had to put my sensible head on. I have no provisions for my future retirement, My job prospects are centred around minimum wage and I'm sinking in a shed load of debt. I've had my fun, time to get sensible and face up to my responsibilities, etc (Yawn). Yes, I've had a stern kicking from 'er indoors :-(

and she knows how many cars I've got to "get round to doing"
Yes, she really is perfect.

Nightmare mate. I am trying to move a few of mine as well. The wife is fine about mine, which is a good thing but just trying to free up a bit of cash as I am a bit skint and need some money for other projects. Bad timing for me otehrwise I would have been interested in this

I got a right shoeing off the lovely Ms_Bo11ox a while ago when I spent a whole weekend and lots of Euros failing to get my Argenta going (which she didn't know I had bought until then : and then driving 800km to not buy a manky Lancia Gamma, instead of cracking on with our freakin derelict home. With the benefit of hindsight i can sort of see her point of view like, sometimes these lasses say 'sensible stuff' worth listening to I guess.

To be fair, she's not making me sell my cars, but all this talk of pensions in the news just lately has made her think about the future. As a result, we've decided to invest in a second property as a long term investment. Selling my cars would give me part of the deposit. I'm still not convinced, but I've got to be seen to be making an effort.
I've just been out for a drive in the Ascona for a couple of hours. Hmm, the force is strong with that one. Especially since I have a Volvo T5 motor waiting in the wings for it. We'll see.

You gotta keep one of your cars daz, I reckon the ascona. Its clearly good policy to be saving up for the future, but if it means you cant do even a little of what you like doing for fun in the present, its a poor state of affairs, thats my view anyway.

I know about mental GF's. My ex gf once went menatal at me and punched me, she then smashed my head of the wall whilst i was sitting in my chair and attempted to strangle me, i was saved when her mobile rang. I was in shock for a while after that.

"Happiness is not having what we want. Happiness is wanting what we have."
It's churlish to give up on something which makes you happy on a 'what if...'
Keep the Ascona no matter what though; it's one of the sweetest motors on here.
