MartinC needs to remove "1984 Cadillac Sedan DeVille" from his sig... ;D As someone has already uncharitably said "with that much velour it must be like driving round in a star trek convention..." Which is a diss I actually quite like. She rides beautifully, she handles well for what she is, and the accleration is kinda like "OK, now I know you're pressing the accelerator down, but I hope you don't think it impudent, but in my opinion I'm going to stay at same speed. Oh go on then, I'll maybe go a little faster since you now have your foot burried in the carpet." For 1983 Cadillac started fitting the "economy" V8 to these, a 4.1 litre fuel injected jobbie. Not man enough really. But its a pleasant cruiser. Designed for old people and the like. And in the days of early series emission controls and the CAFE regs for minimum fuel consumption... Meh, theres always stuff like cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=140216127247&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=004But then I promised not to mess with this one. I certainly don't have the time or money to bgger about with it. It has great features like all that digital stuff on the dash, automatic climate control and the "I can depress you by showing your MPG" computer. I got it as low as 6 MPG overtaking a truck on the A50.... Seems like a fine daily driver. ;D (Has LPG conversion FTW).

8 litre caddy V8 or Northstar span round the right way. Northstar for handling and economy improving mofo win.
That interior makes me want to get in and pimp. Looks so damn comfy though ;D

Mrs K's initial instructions were "I don't care what you get so long as its not another one of those big stupid American monstrosities"
This was later revised in resignation. "At least its fairly shiny".
does an indicated 15-18 MPG cruising so not bad at all.
Northstar would be a complicated fit and for not a lot of benefit as they don't have a lot of torque and this is like 5000lbs of tank.

Nice car AK. LPG kit will make it a reasonably economic proposition. People think these sort of cars are uneconomic to run, yet a petrol Porsche Cayenne would be no better and the average bloke thinks they are great! Love the hood ornament!

Don't like stretched tyres, very low profile tyres & I think a car CAN be too low. Perhaps I'm odd.

I like it, its chintzy inside but in a good way. I guessed it was something American but wasn't sure what. Don't reckon it would too easy to park at Hooters though

I couldn't even park the Cortina at Hooters.
I already know where I can buy chrome bulls horns.
What I actually want for it is a musical airhorn which plays the theme tune to The Godfather. Paulie in The Sopranos has one on his Cadillac and its way cool.
