I haven't seen much Pommy stuff on here yet so how about I get things started with this ... It's powered by a 160bhp Rover K-Series 1.8i twincam, Ford Sierra 5-speed box, Sierra front discs, Ford Fiesta discs on the back, Ford Escort MkII axle w/Quaife LSD, teles on the back, coil-overs on the front on custom A-arms (no torsion bar), leather interior, tinted windows, and Peugeot 15" allows from the 205GTi. Cheers! Oh yeah, nearly forgot ... G'Day from New Zealand!

Doing a search for 'V8 Morris' I found this pic...titled V8 Clubman...is that really a Rover in there? I can't see the other valve cover - but it looks quite convincing! from the same page: Cool!

Spent the best part of an hour trying to find a suitably funky Rover V8/SD1 and apart from a couple of very small pictures on a Belgium site of a couple of interesting looking ones, I can't find anything,.. there must be some out there, they are as funky Retro as you like!! So only the racing one from Brands Hatch many years ago.

The Ultimate SD1? Tom Radford's 2 door! I saw it in the flesh on what was probably it's debut voyage at a local Tuesday night custom meet. definitely one of the best modified cars ever. Twin Turbo 700bhp can't be bad. It handled too!

That car is stunning,.. if only it wasn't pink nice dark blue, or a menacing black,.. but then again I guess the pink is quite disarming,.. or alarming

A better mini conversion would eb the Ford 2.9 4x4 Cossie Clubman - although I haven't seen it around for ages. Maybe Flamey / MiniCity might know more about it?

FFS... you know what? About 12 months ago, I was looking at my mates dads 2.9 V6 Granada Scorpio, 4x4 and thinking, hmmm, why not ditch the shell, shorten the propshaft and chassis, stick some ridiculously wide arches on a mini shell and sling it on top of the shortened Scorpio chassis... Then I though... NAH! don't be silly! Impossible! ARGH! The car got scrapped in the end! Only needed a headgasket and a bit of body work! UGH!!!! So it can be done then?!

MiniWorld... Wow I forgot about that mag! I've got the first 3 or 4 years worth of issues here somewhere, including a MINT issue 1... must dig them out again!

Didn't that pic of the traveller feature in Practical Classis magazine a year or so back in an article on fitting modern motors to classics? It looks kinda familiar.
My father knew a bloke in the early 70s in Sydney who put a Chev big block V8 into a Minor mid mounting it in the back seats. He was made a bet that it couln't stay on the back wheels fot the whole length of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The bet was taken, and it made it. It was doing over 100mph by the end ( it was 4 am at the time) and the car was quickly put into a friend's garage nearby. Within 5 minutes the area was swarming in Police!
