the motor on your silent jobbie looks very simular to the one on my jawel paints 150ltr compressor, mine is single phase!
take a few phone pics & get to machine mart for a moter & cut-out bolt it on a few wires job done! or if you sell it jawel paints do compressors at a good price
i think mine should be running on a higher amp live feed as my lights in the garage dim when the compressor runs, seems a good unit though

Errrrrmmmm.... uhhh.... What is DA ? Sell it on ebay, and buy one of these www.aktivetools.com/sealey-compressor-3hp-50-litre-v-twin---sa22503-435-p.asp£175 all in, delivered. Its the same as the clarke branded one at machinemart. I bought one last year from this place, runs fine, powers all my air tools, but haven't tried it on a DA, as I use an electric one. it powers an air cut of tool fine though. 9.2 free air, so it might cope with a da but will run all the time.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

have you checked theres no 3phase in your house?
sounds silly, but if you live in an end terrace or semi, some rec's put a 3phase supply into just one house then run internal wirebacks to the adjoing properties, saves digging up the street.
post a pic of your lekky meter/cupboard.

I'm an electrician and would say get someone to have a look. Its a metal cased compressor with Nylon wheels. If you make a mistake and put 230volt down the chassis you could hurt someone. Also its Italien which means the electrics are not always upto the standard expected over here Personally if you don't mind spending a little take the motor to a specialist motor specialist. In Eastbourne we have a company called Taylor and Goodman and they used to re wind motors for us in any format we want. I think they used to convert 3 phase down back then too.

Just ordered one of them bloody good price considering the clarke one is advertised for £211.48 without delivery! just need some air tools now couldn't refuse for that price

Might be a silly question but rather than investing in getting the compessor to run on 230v, would getting three phase in the garage not be an alternative?
