In a very general sense it was in Canada. More precisely... Ottowa. Even more precisely it was at the side of a house in a residential neighbourhood called Hull, somewhere between the CROWNe Plaza on Rue Montcalm and the old Canadian National Printing Bureau building on Boulevard Sacre-Coeur. Latitude, longitude? 😁

( of course, in the good old days, glenanderson would have come along by now to chide me for implying that a sextant can provide latitude and longitude co-ordinates. Upon doing so I would have nipped back and re-edited my post to say 'sex toy' instead, confounding him as he came within a gnat's width of high horsery. Good times *sigh*)

You can use a sextant to estimate latitude and longitude even without a chronometer. If you are on land (or in sight of it), and have a map and clear sight of two landmarks on it, then you can pinpoint your position very accurately with a sextant and a protractor. 🤣🤣

Hahahahah I'm speechless. I take that as a compliment. 😃👍 I’ve never had to use a sextant in anger, but my dad new how to do “proper” navigation using charts and had his off-shore “ticket”. He showed me how to use one, although it’s probably forty years ago now, and I’ll admit that I double checked before I posted! 🤣

Really gnarly 410D, camping interior ripped out, rust everywhere, gutters crumbling, obligatory crustie chimney. But at least it's driving.

Bit modern but I like these Saab turbo x’s. So wish Saab were still Going. And an early Range Rover 2 door. I’d really like an early 2 door Range Rover. So many cars I need to buy but no money or space.

Not really spotted because it was a mini show and shine thing at a sponsored dog walk, but not really enough to justify a thread on their own so I'll leave them here. Proper spotting right there. Looks like your picture even has a slight sepia tinge for extra points.
