a couple of scrapyard spots today. always a shame to see this kind of stuff in a yard. missed getting pics of a few interesting spots this week. an '82 esprit...a pair of near identical splitty vans parked up side by side and a xj6 (same as above) that was lower than a snails nipples!!

'80 s1 924 turbo..hibernating '80 golf gli cabriolet...doing impression of a skip '97 pug 106 commuter...continuing cheapness making me smile!
firm believer in the k.i.s.s and f.i.s.h principles.

fraudownersclub : Seats and bonnet fasteners are not my cup of tea, but otherwise: perfect! Thanks for the additional pics. Does YB power cancel the pins and seats 😊

I spotted this well looked after Audi A4 cabriolet in Matlock Bath this morning... (Along with several vintage cars and a TR5 driving through the main road)

Unlike the first A6 which was just a rebadged Audi 100, Audi 80 and A4 are different cars.
But rare as both cabrios have become today, you can easily mix them up I guess.

I looked at an a4 when they were launched in 95 - the a8 was announced, the 100 was rebadged and the a4 was launched all in the space of 12 months or so. I don’t think the convertible was ever badged 80 or a4 though was it?

I don’t think the convertible was ever badged 80 or a4 though was it? Oh you´re right - partially. First here was the Audi Cabriolet - Audi 80 based, but not named like it. Followed by the Audi A4 Cabriolet

Followed by the Audi A4 Cabriolet A bit of googling shows that when the a4 was launched in 94 (B5 model), they didn’t have a convertible - the 80 convertible (B4 model) continued in production until 2000. After the B6 was launched in 2000, they eventually made an a4 convertible in 2002 (similarly the convertible B7 came 2 years after launch). There is no a4 convertible any more, it’s now an a5 model (even though all a4 models now share the a5 floorpan 😀)

Blimey. A Phoenix Mini Estate - you don't see those everyday - even at a Mini show! VERY rare - they only made 63 I think!
