Awful pics, and I know it doesn't look much but this Mazda was MINT. It could have just cruised out of a showroom on day one. What appealed to me possibly even more though was that it was being driven by a young female, very well dressed, very sophisticated looking with a cool hair cut and yadda yadda. I'll stop you before you start chanting "sexist pig" because the reason this aspect of it appealed to me was that this is an older, but clearly well cared for and loved car. This hobby of ours is a little short on female participants. It's a hobby that reeks of pints of ale and testicles and I personally think it's a bit of a shame that it's that way. I can see why it's that way... a combination of tradition dictating that it's 'men stuff' and enduring sexist attitudes that find a safe haven in some male dominated communities (not here so much, but in general), which then dissuade females from wanting to participate. So I was heartened to see a female with an absolutely immaculate older car when she seemed to me like she could have probably afforded a new/ish trendy Mini or any other trendy modern runaround. Okay, it's not a super ancient car, but it was old enough to stand out from the traffic and it looked very well loved indeed.

I'm not a huge fan of the scene of all scenes and I don't know what I'm looking at here. From what little I've picked up I assume it's nothing too special because has too few too large windows, and is (as far as I can tell) a more modern one, not a real vintage one. But it looked nice, and shiny, and although the Porsche affectations struck me as a bit ...ehhhh.... they were very nicely applied and the wheels looked ace. So despite driving past gazillions of these things daily here on the coast, I snapped this one.

Couldn't get up close so I zoomed, which on a mobile phone just means the exact same level of detail but blown up a bit bigger. very tidy though from what I could see. Looked very sporty from the rear if a little less so from the side view snapped.

Okay, not retro, but I was taken by the un Porcshe like graphic colour scheme. It was Kuwait plated car, and something about the tonality of the colours used made me think it probably looks at home in the light quality of Kuwait and looks a bit odd here in damp, grey Hove. I really liked it. It stood out without being stand-out.
6. One I failed to snap
I was gutted to miss this. A crisp white Mk1 Cavalier ssaloon, slammed and on some really beautiful wheels. It was Retrorides Central, and sat at the side of the road near Shoreham power station. I drove past, tried to take a shot, but couldn't manage it safely, so it got away. It was a car I would have been genuinely excited to include in this thread though. I hope the owner is a member, sees this, and posts some pics or a link to a thread.
here's a couple of googles substitute images instead...
