Haha, yeah... That just happened to be driving past. It didn't stop. I'm not particularly interested in Ferrari so I didn't pay it any mind but it struck me as odd/curious when I uploaded the pics. It had a fairly impressive presence coming towards us, and appeared to be much wider than a Eunos/Miata/MX5... and yet, some tell tale signs suggest all was not how it seemed.
It certainly didn't sound like a Fezza although it was trundling between some mighty un-baffled big block V8 thunder makers so hard to tell what noise it was making.

I must admit I get a bit despondent going to these big yank gatherings. A few of these cars gather at the monthly PebbleDash Brighton meet ups and they are seriously powerful, make an awesome noise, and are obviously huge.
On any given day my humble car, amongst ordinary moderns, looks cool, sounds impressive, and can churn some tarmac if I want it to. I get a lot of compliments. But park it up at one of these meets and I find myself feeling quite ashamed of it. It's a weany little plastic knacker that sounds like a Flymo and couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding in comparison to these monsters.
I always park it away from the gathering, nose to the wall so nobody assumes I'm there to show it. When its time to leave I just want to drive it into the sea and get the bus home.
It makes me miss the Humber enormously. Somehow that always seemed to hold it's own despite not being a barnstorming dragstrip attack dog. It had character, a roll cage, a bit of attitude.
*sigh*
I really want another pre66 ex-race car.

Kit car based on a Daimler Sovereign according to DVLA

This is my spot of the year - I have a real bad 4x4 itch that needs scratching and nothing comes better for me than a MK1 Land Cruiser. Saw one on the M25 this evening - Sorry for the bad pix but no way using flash at night in a car!

Spotted this Land Cruiser in the snow while we're on the topic, stopped to get a photo of it and it's still parked in the very same place. Looks pretty beastly and instantly thought I'd love to give that a go! In @quartermass' post, was trying to figure out that 2 door mk2 Cortina for a long time until I scrolled down and saw the back And that Impala wagon is just gorgeous, if only I could get my hands on one of those!

Jaguar Sovereign drophead? Really rather rare if so. If it's the one I think it is, the door frames and roof sides stay in place and the middle of the roof and rear screen fold down, like a 2CV. There was a Montego done the same way knocking about a couple of years ago.

Will leave it open for a couple of days then tell you what it is! hmmm the windows look similar to the peugeot 505, but the doors tell it's a different car, so i'm guessing it's either a peugeot 504 or a renault 12

If that's a plastic rear window as opposed to some plastic draped over the rear window, then I'm inclined to think Vulgalour nailed it like a boss.
My immediate thoughts, looking at it on my tiny phone screen were... The big Fiat saloon car of the 70's/80's (name/number of which currently escapes me), or maybe a Peugeot from the 80's, or possibly a Bristol of some concoction.
It's a very Jag doorshape and creaseline though even though the rear pillar is not Jag style, so if it's not the drophead Jag then I'm going for Bristol.
