There are 2 fundamental things to remember in life :
1: Never get involved in a land war in Asia
2: There is no such thing as a cheap Porsche
You'd end up spending more money getting back on the road then the cost of actually buying one the was perfect to start with, wouldn't touch a "cheaper" "fixerupper" Porsche with someone elses bargepole.

Also bumpers are wrong for year,.. I think (not a Porsche expert),.. which would concern me slightly,.. Well it has been resprayed, and it's broken into so it was probably knicked and given a caning/thump. And it says 80's panels and trim, so he probably had wide wings and bumpers fitted as part of the restoration/respray after it was "Broken into. makes me wonder if I shoould grab it for £5k and imediatley after getting home advertise it to attract a muppet with a newish license and a car loan burning a hole. The kind that have little experience of cars and would be happy to buy a ropey Porker, not knowing what one costs to put right.

Don't touch it.
Wrong Bumpers Wrong Stearing wheel No milage supplied Electric window mech's are a nigtmare on the 924 / 944 so I'm assuming the same for a 911 "The gearbox is notchy and would benefit from a rebuild" couple of grand there! Don't think the side skirts are right either.
My fater-in-law bought a 944 S2 three years ago for £5k. Had to spend loads of money on it as the gearbox/axel needed a re-build, the re-worked head cost a bomb and suspension parts were way expensive.
All in all, buy that Masterati instead!

Oh my god, buying a Maser of the same period instead isn't much of a recommendation. Don't you need a little man called luigi, about a foot tall, with 2 foot arms, and 11 inch fingers to get in and do anything in the bay with them?

Yep, basically a biturbo in a shorter chassis. Even less room than normal to work on the twin turbo V6

And there's room in the back of a 911 to work on the engine......?! A surpising amount of work can be done on a 911 in the bay, and it can easy be pulled on rollers out from the back of the car too. Doesn't necessarily need a crane to do it.

True, but if I had the Masterati I'm not sure I would be confident working on it myself anyway. What would you want to do in the engine bay that takes up that much space anyway? For £5k, buy yourslef a nice quick Kit Car! - or my Mini if ya like

Nah, if I get a kit car, it will be something like an Ultima GTR, with a huge stonking yanky boy V8 and a Supercharger Konigsegg style.
That way Talking the Torque will come naturally.

Not a Dax Cobra or maybe something else with a bit of a 'Retro' influence?

Not a Dax Cobra or maybe something else with a bit of a 'Retro' influence? Oh I think Ultimas, running on big carbs, or a megasquirt system, are influenced by the great GT cars from Leman in the 70's that they are retro enough.
