Hope the weldathon goes well. Stock rusty metal is loads easier to repair than previously bodged rusty metal. Main reason I gave up on the humber when under the underseal I discovered the chassis rails were made from 5" long patches. Matt I'll second that. Its not so bad if its been done properly but when its patched over rust thats left to fester it can be soul destroying.

You'll have it sorted in a jiffy, I trust That's the good things about Benzes - they're workhorses but they know how to keep you out of trouble.

Eeep! I've got that to look forward to before the Caddy's test in April.
I can just imagine the call - "Hello - is that the Mercedes dealer? You want how much for them?" Click. Buzz of dial tone.

Heh, I never suffered any ill effects from the exhaust being near the hole. It was supposed to be a temporary fix, as I destroyed my exhaust a couple of days before RR07. But it kind of stuck around. That bracket is embarrassing... it sort of did the job bit I'm glad it's going now! I have a Micron bike 'zorst that I'll probably be putting at the back end. I've made some progress - chopping out rot and making up new panels, but I've been hampered by the welder breaking yesterday, and then the grinder breaking today. I must start a Reader's Wives thread about my car...
