To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

I had a Burlington Arrow kit car that was BBW 36B. I didn't realise that it was wryly amusing until I discovered t'internet and what BBW means in the pron sense!

there used to be a toyota hi lux around here years back that was owned by an warehouse party organiser, it read H1 4 XTC, also theres a VW Golf Country Chrome Edition near where i now live that has H1 4 AVW, i remember also seeing a channel island registered car, which was a peugeot 205 gti 1.9 that read 20519, and he had used the numberplate screws to divide the 1 and the 9 so it read 1.9

When I was a young lad there used to be a customised Ford Capri with the plate 8EXY locally but they highlighted the S portion of the 8 to read SEXY. It was on one of those black and silver plates at the time and I'm sure I saw it (the plate) in one of those ads in the papers decades later for a ridiculous amount of money. When I was in Northern Ireland in 1987 we often passed a farmhouse with an old Vauxhall Victor that had the following plate SOI 69 (So I 69). I had a thought of buying the car for the plate but of course it never happened

Escort one means "Monte" - which was the name of a limited edition of the Escort Cosworth, 200 made, signified by a more basic interior (no sunroof for a start), special colour and trim options and special alloys (as seen in the pic).

kingmaz: that 626 is "MAZ 6261", with a little skinny 1 at the end. DVLA say it's still on the road, at least till the end of March

I've seen PEN15 on a merc too - was one of them 4x4 affairs if I remember correctly, when I was at college in Nottingham a few years ago.
Also there's a turquoise BMW compact round here (Oxford) with BBC1 0K on it.
Also saw, on a septic tank cleaning truck in Australia, POOMAN which made me laugh like a small child.
Edit: there's also a Bently RT for sale in the local paper with the plate 1 OX , the for sale ad reads something like 'Belongs to double world champion Noel Frost (whoooooooooooo?) Car valued at £30,000 plate valued at £75,000 - offers around £100,000' needless to say it's been in there for weeks and hasn't sold.
