lol I suppose they do have their advantages like being able to fit half the british army in the back plus the "I'm in a Volvo estate 3 times the size of your Astra, get out of my way or I will drive through you " credibility of a big Volvo. I was wanting to get a 2.0 or Torsolanda, looked at a GSL i think it was but had a bit of rust on it and a day after viewing it the owners rung up saying the electrics had gone on it lol Whats the general bhp of one of them tanks?

My mum has a Volvo V70 D5 and uses it in exactly that way. Adam

Not entirely sure of the exact power output but it must be about that, the standard 2 litre Volvo 4 cylinder is quite a willing engine really, although it was designed to be reliable more than anything else. Stick a turbo on it on the other hand, and it's a bloody monster! One of the other advantages, although the Imp has this too, with it's steel bumpers, is that if some yuppie tosser in a new BMW or new Mini decides to park like an idiot, not even trying or looking where they go, and bump right into you, then they get broken and scraped bumpers that cost a lot to fix and look like sh*t until they do, now a volvo with it's big square black bumpers with steel reinforcements behind, will have no damage that can't be polished out (the same applies to my Imp where it's a being built as a rally car, so a little scuff on the chromed steel bumpers is not going to stick out when there are other, motorsport related, scuffs, is it?

Problm is (in my experience) if you've got a really nice one, like TT's red 244, I try to park it away from everybody else at the supermarket car park, yet still I'll come back to find some ropey old wreck parked right up next to it...
