Great finds! This is the kind of thread I love. The rear overhangs on these cars is too big! The proportions are all bo11oxed up.
I have seen the Sbarro job in his museum, wonderful!

I remember that original motor article. Had the copy in a pile I picked up at a jumble sale as a kid.

Holy Necrobump Batman. Who can help us track down where any of these cars are now. Also where any of the Sbarro cars are from the 80s. There seems a bunch of info online, but little in the way of info on where they ended up. Seth I think one may be in the Louwman Museum (mad looking wedge thing). Suspect some of the other Sbarro creations and some of these Artz Golfs may be lurking in museums.

You have no idea how much I want to see this Sbarro Golf/Porsche in real life. I'd love to know where it is. I've been mildly obsessed with it since I first saw it in CAR when I was about ten years old...

DarrenW , next time you are at the See just drive back home via nothern Italy. If google supplies the right adress it´s only 900kms to the museum in Pontarlier, France.

Only the doors and side panels are original, everything else had to be fabricated. The windscreen alone cost £2,000 so this was not a cheap exercise. I don't know what year this was but check this with the Bank Of England's inflation calculator and they reckon £2000 in 1984 would be £6,314.95, by 2018! I'm sure there must have been a suitable donor screen that would fit if they'd looked properly (Granada, BMW 7 series, something American?) It's one of those builds that makes no sense in the real world; Lets make an expensive fast car look like a cheap(ish) slow one, but I do enjoy the fact that they bothered at all.
