My Avenger failed its MOT in October and I still haven't got it back on the road due to extremely limited funds:
Offside rear trailing arm corroded and seriously weakened
Rear exhaust system has a major leak of exhaust gases (well it doesn't have a cat so who cares anyway?)
Steering column universal joint insecure (that would explain the wobbly steering wheel then...)
Nearside rear suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded
Offside rear suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded
Offside rear brake pipe excessively corroded
Nearside rear brake pipe excessively corroded
Nearside front brake pipe excessively corroded
Offside front shock absorber has a serious fluid leak (I like the magic carpet ride though!)
Offside front suspension joint has excessive play in a lower suspension ball joint
Offside headlamp aim too far to the left
And then came the advisories:
Chipped windscreen
Offside front seatbelt fraying (time to get the Zippo out then)
Offside front strut top mount deteriorated (curse word)
Offside front shocker weak
Low tread on rear tyres (hehehehehehe)
Slight play at offside track rod end joint
Rear brake hose poor
Nearside front wheel has been fouling suspension arm but clear at time of test
Front suspension arm bushes cracked
Nearside front inner wing corroding at rear
Front brakes juddering
Slight play at steering rack inner joints
I'm SO tempted just to get rid of the thing. The work is pretty easy (the only thing I can't do is the welding) but I don't have the time and the hour walk to work is starting to hurt my feet (and wear out my shoes). On the other hand, I've changed Uni courses to do Automotive Design and I couldn't possibly live with being an automotive design student without a cool car...
