So What I bought is a Clarke CL430
Eugh, Clarke right. Well, no, it's branded as many other things, Warco, Sealey, Chester etc, I did mention its Chinese, though more likely Taiwanese
I had help to chuck it here, it wont be staying here, that's my workbench, for working. It's also far to high up, but eitherway, it allowed me to give it a test
I got all this stuffs with it
Anyway, remember these
To fit the wheels to the original front steering setup from the tractor, they needed about 24mm taking off them
I decided to take 3mm from the front face and the rest from the back. I pressed out the studs and threw it in the lathe
Look at that! I'd ordered some more subtantial washers a while back, previously used some shims that were very thin and since these are pretty much all that held the wheel on, I figured bigger is better.
I stopped there for the night as it was nearly 8pm and I like my neighbours
I'll do the other at lunch today and then I can start work on fitting the front axle
Now I don't really like how these wheels attach, a split pin, washers and all that. There's also no bearings, the original wheels had a brass bushing, but now i'm using the hubs, it's steel on steel. I will drill and tap a grease nipple into the hub and the keyway should spread it out. Time will tell if it's up to the task, but a redesign is on the cards in the future, because for reasons I will require each wheel to be braked
