But I was watching Junkyard wars this morning and was mildly astaounded when they rolled a rust free split window type 2 into the work bay to chop up into a sort of sand rail thing. It was one of those multi-window things that seem popular, a Samba or something? Dunno. Anyway one of the guys says "jeez this thing must be worth at least ten grand" as one of them is hacking the roof off with a sawzall and yells, "Not any more it aint"
I have no particular love of VWs so I'm not crying into my cuppa but it just seemed odd when I'm sure they could have found a wrecked beetle or something to plant in the junk yard for the team to "find" rather than something of some actual financial value.
Meh.

I swear, one day when i'm obscenely rich i'm going to trash some brand new supercars, some euroboxes, repmobiles and a couple of Chelsea tractors.
Just to redress the balance a bit like.

I think if I was driving the Fiat and clarkson was behind me in some sort of supercar i'd just randomly slam on and let him crash into me.

All this crashing cars, especially ones that are good, really has gone too far now. I mean, wow how cool are you for blowing something to bits............your a real man (otherwise known as fool whos appealing to the lowest common denominator to make a quick buck) I mean the RS200 thing is fine, fairly good review and then hands up at the end I'm an idiot. Even if it was set up, as I imagine it was, its semi beliveable. But the A610 crash is just pointless and would only amuze a wasted chav or a 4 yr old.

i put the rs200 vid up before i even watched it, simply because of the car, as it was in the little menu bit at the side ;D
as for crashing cars on tv, I'm not even that fussed, they pay for em, let em do it. you don't whinge at people who buy older cars for cheap to run them into the ground and then get another to do the same, why bother about this?

What season/episode did they destroy the split bus?

Remember this, Junkyard wars is the US version of that show. Isn't it called Scrapyard Challenge here?
Anyway, being made for the US, at least some of the episodes are filmed there. And as I understand it, splitties, especially somewhat knackered ones, don't necessarily have the same scene tax there that they do here.
So while it's a crying shame, in the context of where it was made, it probably isn't.

Clarkson the tw@t crashes new cars too. I saw him sideways a brand new mini into a gatepost when he was filming for one of his DVDs next door to the place I was working at the time.

Clarkson is an outspoken leg-end. So what if he wrecks afew cars. Ive been watching Clarksons motorworld (or whatever its called) circa 2000 on Dave and its very good. Clarkson is witty entertaining and speaks total sense. I used to be a big fan of his, I think its just the "new" top gear thats changed my mind, especially "that" TG episode. I just cant bear him anymore!

its only a television persona, i bet he aint like that in real life, a few things he has said and done has shown exactly that. he started off like a normal reporter, and as his fan base has grown he gets sillier, i like him, some things make me grind my teeth, but its only tv, and its only a few cars, them cars arent exactly the rarest of rare are they

Just remember, the three most influential and important people to have walked this Earth share the same initials, Jesus Christ, John Cleese and Jeremy Clarkson. 'Nuff said.
