I run my eclectic fleet on a multi vehicle policy with Footman James. The Land-Rover, the Austin lorry, the Canta, my modern Honda CBR500R, three BSA Bantams and the Triumph T25SS are all covered with unlimited mileage for ยฃ560. Adding the Canta this summer was a ยฃ25 admin fee, as were the Triumph and Finlayโs Bantam when they arrived. Upcoming changes mean that the Triumph will drop off once my mate thatโs bought it finally collects it, as will one of the Bantams and the Honda once theyโve been sold. I donโt anticipate getting anything back when they go, but equally I donโt expect to have to pay any more than another admin fee to add the Hondaโs replacement. I know that itโs a little late now, but given your tendencies to chop and change, with your bike and the C10 as background constants, I would think that it might be worth looking at combining things onto one policy when your next renewal comes around. Insuring all my stuff on separate policies was costing me nearly double what I pay now. Excellent thinking Glen. The GS is insured, for whatever reason, and the C10 is not, but is for sale ๐ having another two or three cars could work, but often getting Americans insured poses a problem

I think the only criteria for the Footman James policy I have is that you need at least one โmodernโ and one โclassicโ, but beyond that you can put whatever you want on. The โmodernโ for me is the Honda motorcycle.

That non slip looks great, might do that on the current daily as it tends to get scuffs. What did you use Grizz ? I like the simple USA removeable bars, the one on one car with a fancy key locking system isn't coming off without a grinder now... James US towbars ("ball mounts" clatter, bang and wobble - you can admittedly wander into many stores and buy another with a different lift/drop (turn it over for one or the other) - but so much slack in the system, you can easily loose an inch or more in droop. So mine is shimmed and also isn't coming out too easily. The van one perturbs me - it looks to be have been welded up out of a chopped up UK spec one and the original - the original looking less then 2" square? BE okay for a light garden trailer I guess. The US ball mounts use different size bars for different trailer weights (- as well as three different sized balls - none of them metric of course, so I finally found a suitable rated bolt on ball in Germany for mine

Thank you. The one on here is a nice tight fit and I actually flap wheeled it to remove surface rust to allow it to fit. There is the fixing hole and also a weird rear adjuster that uses a 10-15mm spacer to pull the tow bar and ball into the fitting as well.

Raining all day. Working redundancy styleโฆโฆ. Wanted to get some rear entry action today. Cut, shape and see if it works to make up a blanking panel for the rear door. The number plate recess has been tidied and the paint now dried, but rain prevents fitting. Hoped some time over the weekend to get some stuff done.

Still not dry outside. So spent money on Amazon instead. ยฃ21.94 for a silly ornament, but why be normal.

Needing a Pony Express possibly to collect 5 wheels with tyres fitted in Milton Keynes to come to Rochester, Kent.
I went by there two weeks ago but they were not available then.
Big ask, big load but worth asking.
Just in case
PM. Me.

No need for Pony Express anymore. Fixed that problem myself. Or maybe created one. 140 miles mini road trip yesterday to meet up with two awesome guys. One a member on here Sammo, and a younger guy who does 1% social media, only FB marketplace to sell stuff. Spent an hour at least at Samโs mums place and would happily spend a day working or chatting with him, got to spend time with his Mums cat, and also met his rescued pet tortoise, another cool creature. Bought and loaded some stuff, he kindly gave me some real winter emergency spares too. Thanks Sam. Then off to Chertsy to meet up with Curtis a builder (construction sort) How refreshing to chat for an hour with someone who is massively into cars, but has no PB, IG or other Stalker site presence. I just found him while doing a search for something arbitrary and unrelated, realising he also had some stuff I wanted (rarely about need) I bought some stuff from him and ended up with having to return stuff that did not fit in the back of the com-any wagon as it was a bit bigger than the hole. Also some bits that did fit. However, more importantly, he declined money for the stuff I had not gone to buy, citing that he was brought up by a step dad who taught him everything he knows in construction as he was employed by him after school and that being honest (he offered to demonstrate the goods I had bought from him, working, there for me) and paying stuff forward always left him with a full Karma bucket. What a pleasure. I drove off smiling and thinking that if I had kids, this would be my template. Back home around 3.3.30pm after leaving at 09.00am I was just moving the Astro over the street when I saw nickwheeler waft by in his silver (actually it is grey) Ford Focus. So I parked the van over the street nd reversed the company car up into the back yard for unloading. As I was done and moved the Focus back out front, Nick cruised up and parked. A couple of hours saw him being able to get his weekly quota of pissstaking with me, and no paint was involved. A good at indeed, wallet somewhat lighterโฆโฆ for the greater good. No Astro work done, except unbox my new Hula Tiki. Life is good.

Two small jobs done. Due to the new to me, Caddy vans arrival, focus was lost for a bit. So yesterday afternoon I got a couple of minutes in there. First job, wrap up the rear carpet retainer strip refit, with new screws. Looks loads better. Then proceeded to mess with the piece of Mazda Bongo trim I got from Bill oxb1l in Scotland Wish I had the original trim, that would be better. But we can make it up as we go along. Just needs a dry, warmer day and some tiger seal to make fit. Marked, cut, ground, repeatedly till it was a decent fit. Heat gun action to reshape and get a curve into it. Well, sun is out, now may be a good time before the next lot of rain drowns the ducks. More small jobs to get done. .

Once the clouds disappeared and the skies warmed up a bit today, I went to the garage, moved the van into the sun. Grabbed some stuff. Prepared. Clamped in place. Multiple clamps because there are curves on two planes. Left for 5 hours and removed the clamps so that I could close the doors before dark and, damp out back. Result. I will make up a small filler piece for the top,as well tomorrow. Happy with this result. Astro kissing Caddy butt. Will try to get a better pic for perspective of their respective sizes. Both are a bit deceptive. .

fingers crossed it doesnโt rain this weekend so we can all play with our motors ๐คฃ๐ Wellโฆโฆ yesterday was a wash out so I cleaned the house and checked the interior of the Caddy van for and water ingress and am happy to say not a drop seen or felt under the dash. Got two different visitors today, one RRโs guy, Ashley coming two hours from Eastbourne at 09.00 to collect the Caddy seats for his sonโs Caddy as he likes original parts and then mate Kevin at around 11.00 to just shoot the breeze. But I told him I would be busy trying to remove the Throttle Position Sensor in the Caddy as its still losing throttle response. Got โgivenโ a three year old iPhone 12 Pro Max by Sallys son last night. It died suddenly this week, refusing to take any charge or turn on it seems. If I can get it fixed and working for under ยฃ100 I will give him ยฃ100 as he did not want to sell it, kids just scrap stuff. If I can get it fixed I will use it for my YouTube channel filming. I love the size of my 4 year old iPhone 8 as it is easy to pocket. Loads of cameras on it. Boggles my mind.
