That looks suspiciously like it's baswd around the little radio I bought for my golf cart. Works okay, nothing stellar but every phone that's been thrown at it so far connected and worked for calls; it's been rained on and still works fine. That one even looks about right.

I still think a period Alpine unit would really suit it However, if the Kenwood from the depths of your garage has the round CD changer socket in the back you can buy a Bluetooth module and mic that will plug straight in to it. I’ve yet to fit it but I’ve bought one for the Kenwood (I think I bought it early 2000’s but not sure exactly) I’ve put in the Sierra so can’t comment if it’s any good or not, but it was only a tenner on eBay so figured it was worth a punt, if only to use the radio app so I don’t have to listen to Jeremy bl00dy Vine

Didn't you say that there were external amplifiers fitted in the van? Is the current head unit running through them? If it is be aware that there are no line outputs on that new unit so it won't connect to them and you will have to re-wire the speakers directly to the head unit. You will very much notice a difference in sound quality without the amplifiers. Its not about playing music loud but how much effort the electronics are having to make to play at the volume you want. A higher power amplifier playing at lower levels will generally sound better than the head unit internal amplifier playing at the same level.
An older higher quality with an aux in and an add on Bluetooth module would be a very good choice. I have used the NextBase DAB350T add on DAB/Bluetooth units with great success in the past on my Mercedes CLK and my Voyager (both standard headunits had an aux in). I bought two of them when they were on ebay at a very discounted price.

While I was up in Scotland visiting Bill, I managed to scavenge som plastic trim from a Mazda Bongo van he had chopped up. Door lock and side needs trim. This may be a plan. Not quite a perfect fit, but a grinder, some heat gun action and we may have it looking a lot better. During the week, while I travelled to Scotland, some anti-slip tape arrived at home. So I removed the half-arsed attempt by some brain surgeon, leaned up many years worth of old hardened glue and proceeded to measure and cut. Pretty messy and messed up. Cut to length Cut to shape. Up close. Liking that a lot. Cleaned up the removable tow bar and removed the original license plate. Fitted, with license plate in place. Not ideal And replaced the front license plate. I am liking this. Next job is to drill the holes for the retaining stip, carefully, in order to get the screws back in to hold the strip down. Fit the rear license plate, as I had to clean up and repaint the rear plate support.

They certainly look "right" and finish it well off. I think the rear is a candidate for being tugged due to obstruction but If it were mine, it would be staying just like that & deal with any consequences if they arise

As the tow bar is detachable, just run with it off until you need it. Saves a potential tug, and also much easier on the shins when navigating the driveway in the dark after a “couple” of spiced rums…

Towbar is a functional tool, and a pain in the shins as glenanderson said. I love the clean lines of this van.

Clutters up the rear and screws with ANPR, thus a reason to get tugged. The pressed American plate is already a challenge to authority, despite being 100% ANPR legible.

That non slip looks great, might do that on the current daily as it tends to get scuffs. What did you use Grizz ? I like the simple USA removeable bars, the one on one car with a fancy key locking system isn't coming off without a grinder now... James

I bought more than I needed as that was the standard length. It is 150mm wide. How much, or how long do you need? I think it was a 5 meter length, and I used about 2 meters as you lose some trying to get into the wrapping (Stanley knife casualty) I am happy sending it to you in the post. FOC. Send me a PM with an address and I will get it out to you if you can use what I have here.

I run my eclectic fleet on a multi vehicle policy with Footman James.
The Land-Rover, the Austin lorry, the Canta, my modern Honda CBR500R, three BSA Bantams and the Triumph T25SS are all covered with unlimited mileage for £560.
Adding the Canta this summer was a £25 admin fee, as were the Triumph and Finlay’s Bantam when they arrived. Upcoming changes mean that the Triumph will drop off once my mate that’s bought it finally collects it, as will one of the Bantams and the Honda once they’ve been sold. I don’t anticipate getting anything back when they go, but equally I don’t expect to have to pay any more than another admin fee to add the Honda’s replacement.
I know that it’s a little late now, but given your tendencies to chop and change, with your bike and the C10 as background constants, I would think that it might be worth looking at combining things onto one policy when your next renewal comes around. Insuring all my stuff on separate policies was costing me nearly double what I pay now.
