Stripped the Calipers off the old axle, checked condition, cleaned them up and made new copper brake lines, there now in there new home waiting on brake pads Next step is fit the boot floor, then bolt the back end of the body to the chassis. After that fit fuel tank, compressor, fuel pump, battery. Then hopefully can fire it up, and then start getting the lights working

Not been on for a while now, been doing loads of boring jobs, bolted the body to the chassis in the boot, started on the boot floor, gromets to run cables and fuel lines through, made a few earth straps, started on wiring the rear lights and stuff up, going to get all the back end wired, then fit the fuel tank rather than in and out with the tank loads of times. Didn't bother with any photos as there's nothing exciting

Got to the point of mocking up tank location A bit higher than I would like, but I am working with what I have, and the fact I stole most the boot with the back axle to get the ride height low. Hopefully make some mounts up and get it plumbed up ready for the first fire up of the engine, almost a year into the project

Went for a startup today, just cranked over, got fuel to the carbs, plugs are getting fuel. Found no spark, tested it and doesn't seem to be sparking at the points, and this thing has 2 sets of points and 1 condenser. Gave my mate a call who owned it before and he said when it didn't start for him he cleaned the points and it was away. So I have gave them a bit of a clean up, but it's a bit late to be firing it up no knowing how loud it will be, so will crank it over in the morning. Electronic ignition conversion is cheaper than the 2 sets of points and condenser so if the engine is good it will be converted I think

So I ordered the electronic ignition conversion, about £30 cheaper than replacing points and condenser About a 15 minute job, and fired up first touch of the key

Brakes are all bled up, ordered an alloy radiator, coolant hoses, used the lathe to turn some alloy heater hose plugs for the pipes I am not using at the moment. Jobs left to do, fit rad when it arrives, fit the rear wheel spacers and torque the wheels up. Fit all the interior paneling, like floors, bulk head, tunnel, ect. Finish the wiring of the indicators, wiper motor and front lights. Fit the dash, decide on seats and get them in. Then off to my mates garage for a once over on a ramp and set the front tracking up. Then oil change, axle and box level check, and ready for test

Today I got a mini alternator from a friend, I had to remove the spacer between the fan and the pulley, and rotate the front case. But it now fits exactly where the rolls alternator was. The reason for this is the roll alternator needed an external voltage regulator which I don't have, so swapping to a mini one sorts that issue out Also started trying to sort seating position, it may have to be a 2 seater, or 3 seats with 1 going across the car All the floors a riveted down, the tunnel is in, will start on bulkhead tomorrow hopefully

Not sure as they are listed as the earlier car, I have been debating making it a 2 door since I will end up sat looking out the rear doors I think

Made some bottom rad mounts, not sure weather to make the top ones coming up off the chassis rails, or a bit of round bar from the bulkhead to the top centre mount on the rad, so left them for now. Continued with the wiring, all lights, and indicators work now, horns done, just need to do the inidcator and main beam tell tails. Then need to do oil light and temp gauge. Started on the build up, dash is now in and front screen winder all working Not many jobs left to do now
