I used it before and seem to recall it was fine.
Yesterday I painted it over some ground back steel and pitting, waited for it to dry, then painted some black, gloss enamel over it by 3.00pm
This morning it is still distinctly tacky and left some on my fingers when I gently touched the surface.
Any experience or advice?
Thanks

How long have you had it? The bottles I've had say throw away after a year. Not sure if that was a year after opening or buying

Had it for a longer time than I can recall. It was sealed up with the air all blown out of it, but I suspect it does not matter in this case. In which case I will have to go get some more white spirit and remove the sticky paint and start again. Saying that, I managed to slop some onto the paving outside the garage and on the edge of the paint tin it is also still tacky. I have pushed it in under the carport in the hope that a week there, doors agape, it will continue to dry, albeit slowly. Paint used:

Here in the states we have something called Por-15 which I personally use on parts of the van. Ideally, if one is restoring their car, they should coat nearly all parts of the frame etc with a paint brush and not a sprayer as the sprayer tends to not cover thoroughly. For that matter of could even dip their parts for full and total coverage.

Every time I’ve used Sandtex paint I’ve sworn never to use it again, as you’ve found, it never seems to bloody dry.

Both VACTAN and Sandtex show no expiry dates or use by dates. I suspect some chemical reaction has taken place between them, so if not dry-ish my the weekend, petrol or white spirit to remove it all. Frustrated.
