hi mate has a micra, and he painted the wheel trims on it recenty, he used a primer, then wheel silver. Its cracked now a week later where he bent the trim to get it off again.
what should you use to paint wheel trims? I am going to paint some for my rover 100 in the next week or so, and i will offer to paint his with my gun.
thanks

When I used to valet cars in main dealers we used to scrub them with a scotch pad and then give a very light coat of wheel silver. Literally just enough to cover the discolouration. No primer No clear coat Sometimes they would be back on the car and on the forecourt within the hour.

i wonder if the problem is he used primer then? He probably ended up with too thick a layer that hardened and didn't flex when the plastic trim did.

I did mine with Upol primer, wheel silver, and Upol clear coat, all from aerosols and they've been fine. You need to do several thin, light coats though. When I overdid it on one on the clear coat I ended up sanding it off and re doing as it looked different. Sounds like your mate put a bit too much on, which is easily done as you can't see where you've been.
I didn't use a special plastic primer BTW
